Do u think for grinding up a roll to play at higher stakes, just playing 2 tables of 6 max is proficient enough to do this for the time being, i know its player Dependant and some can multi table very well while others cant. But should i be aiming at adding more tables to grind threw the micros quicker or just stick to playing 2 maybe 4 tables and improving my game for the higher stakes?

I have no truoble multi tabling as i can play 15+ tables very comfortably but thats FR.

as we all know you have to focus on 6 max a little more then you would at FR, so its only natural to drop tables.

Definitely player dependent.

As a suggestion, though, try 2-4 tabling for a while and really focus on your game. Depending on stakes/time invested/etc., this may be enough to build your br, and will likely help you develop good habits in 6max that'll benefit you as you decide to add tables.

fwiw, I 9table fr and 6table 6max for NLHE - I start playing very sloppy if I increase beyond that (but I have a limited attention span, so... ;) ), and when I'm focused on improving my game rather than grinding (which is most of the time these days), I drop to 4tables of 6max.

I think it really depends on your experience. I noticed when I first started I could do 2 tables of FR, but at 3 tables I would really start to lose. And, now I'm up to 6 tables of FR or 4 tables of 6 max. I think it just takes experience... IMO

Play as many as you can without ruining your winrate. Small drop in winrate will be offset by the greater number of tables. Say you can win 5bb/100 on 2 tbls Youd be better off winnign 2bb/100 on 8 tbls. Its a pretty simple ratio to figure out, just do whatever makes you more $$$.

If you are playing 15 tables FR comfortably then you should definitely be able to add a couple tables to your 6Max. I would start by adding one each session until your stats start to show that you're slumping. One of the things that tells me that I need to add another table(aside from my stats) is that I have spare time between making action at tables, then I should open another table because I have the time for it ;)

If you are too busy studying people at one table that you can't open up a second table, then you are studying your opponents too much and you probably aren't getting anything extra out of it than you would if you tried opening one more table.

My new laptop came with a program called "Sticky Notes". I basically get a post-it that I put on my screen, type in the player's name, and what I know about them. Now, with 4 tables up on my laptops 17" screen things start getting cramped, especially when you have the tables tiled, a HUD, and your sticky notes all over the place.

Ussually I'm only playing a couple of tables though. (Bad internet)

I used the sticky notes right when I first upgraded to Windows 7, but I stopped using them because they make the screen a little cluttered.

if you are confident on your ABC poker you can try as many tables as you like, just to build you bankroll, personally i play 24 9max 2NL, just ABC poker. sometimes, i switch to 4 tables, 6 max 5NL and check out on what people do. however in time my win rate seems to be higher at 24 tables.
