People are suddenly raving about 2-7 Triple Draw. Are there any guides or posts about this game and how to play as well as strategy? I can't find any!

Was just wondering the same thing myself. I'd be satisfied to have a quick guide to opening hands to play for both limit and NL.

Hehehe, finally my UB account's good for something!

Here's a quick primer [old link~tb]

I hope a lot more people play now. Will take away from the burn out that sets in from a steady diet of NL Hold 'Em.

It's kind of like a cross between 5 card draw and Razz. If you've played those, you can wrap your brain around it.

You'll get the hang of it quickly enough. Not like Badugi. Oh don't get me started on Badugi, only a hundred times trickier than triple draw or pineapple could ever be.

For limit I'm guessing that the worst hand I should start with is 3 to an 8 low?

LOL there was a player at the table that clearly thought that A played for low.

that would seem to be a good place to start from but for no limit u need to get very nut peddly, 8 lows are often no good in nl while in limit, playing 9 lows can be profitable

First of all, it is a filthy bastard game that will rob your soul of its shine, remove the twinkle from your eye and leave you muttering to yourself at night. I hate this game the way normal poker players hate razz.

But if you must play it, some basic advice:

1) Don't start a hand OOP with less than three to a seven, preferably without a 6 (6s make it hard to make made hands without straights).

2) Do not forget that unlike razz, straights and flushes *do* count against you.

3) Position is incredibly important, you must bluff heavily and catch your opponents bluffing.

meh, i know 2 good regs

its so hard to give general advice on the game, since its impossible to give advice unless you know the circumstances of the hand. Just practice in general until you get to a stage where you can put people on hands and can fold and 8-7-4-3-2 low to a raise in heads up to have your villain show 7-6 low, then you know your at the stage where you can run over the game

best advice i can give, in the most modest way i can say this without sounding like a tool, pm me hh's and ill look over your stuff and give some adivce (preferably 50 hands or less at a time). Although i am by no means an expert, i am raking in the monies so i assume my tactics are worthy

meh playmoney will be kinda pointless, i learnt playing the lowest limit games first then moved up to 50nl when i knew what i was doing

tbh, the most important factor of the game is position is key, it means absolutely everything in a hand. It so hard to play a hand oop against someone who knows what they are doing

yeah playmoney would be pointless if anyone else is at table. Have to be all cc taking it serious or don't bother. Imagine limit and nl w/ pot control is quite different and it starts at 50nl, high for most to start. Anyway i was half joking and i only have ps massimo, sorry.

Once you have 2-7 down, I've seen many people run this scam, they'll sit and the first 1 or 2 hands they'll showdown trips or 2 pair and everyone calls them a moron. Then after that they bust out the nuts and reap in loads of cash.
