How do you play? I'm curious and would like to start playing this game.

Its a 3 draw game where you try to make the lowest hand but unlike razz or Hi/Lo games straights and flushes count and aces are high so the best possible hand is 75432 off suit

That's triple draw, same rules otherwise but single draw is played as a no limit game more than triple draw I believe.

Just to clarify I think Chvren was saying that flushes and Straights count agianst you. Meaning they are losing hands.

I prefer triple draw 2-7 Limit play.

I prefer the no limit version of the game. Its a lot easier to teach people the nuances of the game in a home game. Triple draw is supposedly more complicated, since there's multiple betting rounds, and its a limit game, so if I was looking to make $, I'd probably lean towards the 3 draw version. But I honestly know very little about the triple draw game, and I'm not very good at KCL either.

Some basic strategy:

-A made jack low is a small favorite over a 1 card draw. So if you raise the button with JT986 and your opponent in the big blind calls and breaks, you should stand pat despite your hand being really ugly.

-Knowing this, most people will not flat out of position from the blinds. You need to be 3-betting most hands you play from the blinds and standing pat a fair amount. Its pretty standard to 3-bet a late position raise with a hand like 22558, stand pat, and bet the river if your opponent breaks trying to get him to fold. And since your opponent will often miss their draw (even more often because you hold 5 good cards they're likely drawing to), they'll often be folding.

-Two card draws are not your friend.

-Draw smooth. 2349X is a stronger hand than 2489X, even though both hands are drawing to a 9.

-Get dealt pat 7's.

IT is a kind of poker very interesting, where the best combination of cards would 2,3,4,5,7 .... repeated cards do not have value and A 'is the worst card.

I was gonna write something, but what c9 said was better anyway.

FWIW there's a good section on this game in the original Super System.
