I have made .87 on carbon poker from freerolls and am apparently only bankrolled for the .11 tournaments. What is the best strategy for these? They are all hyper turbo sngs where you start with 300 chips and the blinds start at 15/30 and go up every 3 minutes. They are 6 handed and pay the top 2 finishes. Should I try to make money from other avenues like the cash games instead?

Your chances of building up from .87 using these is miniscule. If you want to build your roll the best thing to do would be to save the .87 and start playing the fun steps. With 1 fun step win (plus your .87) you could buy into one of the micro ring games. The hyper turbo's are a total crap shoot and even if you play them perfectly the variance is so high that you'll loose the .87 very quickly. I think Carbon should really offer smaller buy in games to accommodate the tiny freeroll payouts.

Funstep SNG.

use 250 play chips for a step 1 ticket, then play for step 2
and win 1st in step 3, u got 1bucks.

so....it looks better than play 6 handed 0.11 hyper SNG.:D

Yeah, better off playing the fun steps than trying to play the 11c hypers and build up. It'll take you forever just to win $1, unless you go on an absolute tear.

To me the hyper turbos are only for those with disposable money. By that I mean it doesn't really affect the BR. I play a lot of the 11c hypers and sometimes the $1 ones too but I also have around $200 for a BR. Whether I win or lose it doesn't really matter because I just wanted some quick games to play for a while.

I too would like to see more micro buy-ins at the SNGs or at least bring back the fast fifty SNG which was 50c+10c.

If you're looking for general strategy, the best advice is probably shove all pairs and most broadways. Stealing blinds generally ends up being somewhat important, but you're likely just gonna have to win a flip or two.

I've played around 150 of the 11 cent hypers and I've been more or less breaking even. One mistake I see people making time and again is to shove a hand like J6o or Q2o on the first round to try and double up early, so that they don't have to play short stacked. It might work, but the blinds are only 15/30 on the first round so you're risking your whole tournament for a small gain, and more often than not somebody will call with K high or A high and win.

Since you start with only 10BB you don't have a lot of room for raising, in most cases it's either fold or shove. I've probably been playing slightly too tight in these, but what I've been doing is waiting out the first 5-6 hands unless I get a really good hand, and usually at least 2 players will be gone by then. You can get whiplash from the swings in stacks in these, yesterday I was in one where I had around 100 chips, another player had ~400, and the chip leader was over 1200. Within a few hands I was the chip leader and the old leader was busted out, but I finished second after 2 hands HU.
