10 Community cards?

Hello guys!

I was watching an poker series where one player were all in and after the river they put another 5 cards on the table.. Why is this?

Here is the episode if u want to watch it, The thing i talked about happends around the 20 minute mark..

Not gonna watch the whole video, or even search for it but .... I assume the players involved were all-in pre-flop and they agreed to "run it twice" in which case they would deal the entire board 2x.

OP, when they agree to run it twice they finish the hand, then deal 5 more community cards, 1/2 the pot to the winner of each hand.

As this is high stakes poker they sometimes run it 2/3 times etc, to save players losing $100,000 to bad beats and flipping for $100,000 because no one wants to lose that much money in one hand to a bad beat or a flip

Ye just to avoid losing that kind of money in such unnecesary ways

Yes, players can decide to "run it twice", which will have the community cards played out twice, and instead of one $10,000 pot going to the winner, there will be two $5,000 pots, going to the winner of each respective community board.

Note however that this can not be done in tournament play. This clip you have is from high stakes poker, which (in online terms) is similar to a high-stakes ring game. You will not be seeing any dealers "running it twice" in the wsop.

Exactly - running it multiple times reduces variance.
