Ok...

I won a few $1.10 coupons at Players Only freerolls. Tonight I finally decided to use one. I hit 10th place and made 32 bucks. Cash / ring games are not my bag, I will lose it all. So, what level tournaments should I be buying into now? I am trying to figure out this bankroll management thing. Or should I just keep using the $1.10 coupons until I have a larger bankroll? I can usually get two or thee of the coupons a week.

you're still at the small buying with that roll
keep winning the coupons, and you can just outright buying to the $1.10s
anything higher will jeopardize your roll

edit: bytheway- congrats

yeah keep using the coupons until you get to around $110-$120+, you want to have around 100 buy ins for tournaments imo, if not more, congrats on your win!

Congrats on your win! I'd use any coupons available to me first to build a decent BR. Good luck!

As others say you should continue to play a freeroll and only use the tickets. In such a fast paced get adequate bankroll. Nicely done!

Use a few more of your coupons. See how comfortable you feel in the 1.10s over a somewhat larger sample than just one. If you're confident you're a winning player at this level, then continue playing them and drop the freerolls, either gradually or immediately. You'll have to wean yourself off them some time anyway, and the sooner the better.

Find out what you have to do to withdraw, plus any restrictions that apply. If you have to deposit, then if you feel you're a +EV player, do it.

If you find you're not comfortable, then it's a matter of balancing off playing more freerolls to win tickets and using tickets to take shots and improve your game until you do feel comfortable enough.

Thanks everyone for your responses. It was a good pick up but I wish I had been able to make it a little higher for bigger money. The one thing that frustrated me in this tourney, near the bubble there were two players that were pushing over and over. They pushed with anything, would double rebuy and do it again. Right before the break, one of these guys hits for a big hit and gets a stack of 64K. I had like 32K at that point. The blinds were around 1K if I remember right. This guy had no clue how to play but got lucky. After the break with a 4 7 off suite, he doubled again. He ended up busting 4th for $182. He probably spent $50 or more on rebuys. The point is, it put me in an orange, almost red mzone, because I could not just play bingo with these guys. The blinds were eating me. I was down to 16K after the bubble and pushed a 4 4 and hit. That was enough to get me to 10th. How do you play people like this? Do you push a top pair and become the bubble boy? Or do you sit back make some money and hope it settles down after the rebuy closes?

Congrats on your cash, friend!! I wish I could win a few coupons. I have only played in 3 or 4 of the 1.10 coupon tourneys, but haven't secured any free passes yet :( What's your secret. PM me if you want :) Those were at Players Only?? Is that the same deal as Sportsbook?

Early on, play extremely tight / loose. What I mean, if you have a pocket pair and someone shoves, call it. Play your normal tight range but make all in calls on flush and straight draws.

It is a freeroll. The worst thing that happens is you bust. No big deal.

Once you get a 20 - 30 BB stack, tighten up. Now is the tie to play ABC poker. It takes a lot of luck early in these because the blinds increase so fast.

Good Luck! Hope to see you again on the tables!
