What is it with doing a withdrawal from a poker room that seems to kill the cards for a few days/weeks....I have spoken to a few of my buddies locally who play online and they feel the same way. Everytime I do a withdrawal it seems as tho I am getting punished for daring to remove some of my money and I go card dead for a while. Anyone else noticed this?

It is all about the computers man...they are taking over just like the terminator said they would. They KNOW when you do wrong against them and will get their money back...lol

haha something like that is definitely just in your mind. They would get in so much trouble for that.
It's kind of like how the drive to somewhere takes forever and the drive back feels like nothing.
You're pretty much just finding what your mind is looking for

The most common explanation is that when u cut yr BR, losses seem magnified when playing at your accustomed limits.

Just count your blessings that you are a talented enough player to build the bankroll enough to withdraw money, unlike me, who is still learning, and keeps putting more in lol Something wrong with this picture, but I am getting wiser, just from hanging with you all.

I have never had the opportunity to withdraw any funds as I'm building on that or at least giving it a good try. It would sure be the pits if and when I went to withdraw I had a problem or got trashed out cards afterwards. You gave me something to think about. What forum do you usually play?

My husband and I play at 3 Piggs Poker. We live off our poker earnings from this poker site.

people say that all the time...i mean if your a low limit player....your average bankroll maybe is $150...if you hit a nice mtt cash. Say you get up to 500. That 500 looks a lot more sexy in your cashier than your 150.
Lets say you stick around with the 500 a few days and lose 50 bucks.. then cash out 200 down to 250. Heres where this will mess with your head.
when you had 500 and dropped 50, it didnt hurt. Now after you cash out and you drop 50 you start to press and your bankroll gets smaller and smaller, and people tend to look for somone to blame. I've had great cards after i've cashed out and i've had bad cards, its variance, its poker.

i mean guys dont get mad or anything, dont take this the wrong way. IMO i believe that if you win enough money to withdraw then you think your a lot better than you really are. You put up to high of expectations, and when you dont succeed, you look for someone, something to blame.
I started playing on the net about 6 years ago. and seriously during the first 5 years, anytime i cashed out, i was putting money right back in say a month or so later. And i thought the exact same thing. Well you know what happened, i got better. I play in 30 sngs a day, one day i might run horrible, the next day i might run great. So if i cash out and then run horrible i know that if i keep putting my money in ahead, tomorrow im gonna win it back plus some. The last time i deposited now was dec 07, i think i was about 1k in the hole on FT at the timenow i've turned it around 180*. Read the poker mindset, it'll help change your mind. And when you do change your mind, you'll become a far better player, and win much more money.

Nonsense. It's a fine line between winning and losing poker. You withdraw, you get overconfident. Or maybe you do go card dead. It happens. You think they're going to go to all the trouble of devising a doom button just for little old you?

I agree with this, my problem I have now back in Sept my bankroll
peaked at 4K me being the smartone since I needed money w/d all but $400
well since I did that. I went busto and still can't win I suffer the worse beats of my life that I didn't imagine possible.
Have had to deposit over more than 1 time and still hasn't changed its been this way for heading on 6 months now and its driven me insane and definately believe in the cashout curse

Well I still havent figured what it is but I have just been trying to go to the tables with a little more confidence and I also find I should not play in any cash games after I have played in anything that has the word "freeroll" in it.

Come on, guys, get real.

The hands are random, streaks are part of poker. Conspiracy theorists.

When I first stared and withdrew my money .I felt like I was getting bad cards. However I realize that it is all in my head. The cards don't change it still the same game.I think because we lose a certain amount of our bankroll we tend to think that we are getting outdarwn or suckout because of what we took and it mostly our brain doing it.
