Wow, thanks for the advice everyone. Sorry it has taken me so long to write back. My plan was to use my tax refund to bank roll my new adventure of online poker but true to its form the IRS sexually assaulted me and kept my refund. (I destroyed my credit in my younger years due to vast amounts of irresponsibility and owe numerous entities, whoops...)
Anyways, I will undoubtedly find a new way to get this going and again, I appreciate all the advice but it has raised a few more questions. First I'd like to say how strange and suspicious it is that BetOnline is rated number one across MANY different forums and websites INCLUDING and being backed by this one but I consistently hear nothing but horror stories and many negative reviews about it.
Now for my questions. I think I am going to go with the way of Bovado unless someone can come along and truthfully with some supporting facts convince me BetOnline is the way to go since they, at first glance, appeared to be the best fit for me with my specific criteria. I'm wondering though, does Bovada have a mobile Android
App, as I don't own a laptop or have WiFi and would much prefer to play on my phone or some cheap tablet. Also, I'd like to pick the right site because wouldn't it be beneficial to make as big of a deposit first to take full advantage of the large percentage the website will match with first time poker deposits? This also leads to my next set of questions, this is of no interest to me but one cannot help but wonder, with these sites matching or doubling your first poker deposit, how are they not being ripped off by people just taking that free money that's been giving to them and cashing out? Also, I have heard of people depositing NO money and just playing
freerolls(?) Which I have no idea what those actually are but I assume its a few free dollars or a free entrance into a small tournament. And when people use these free rolls and actually win money, they receive nothing but weeks of problems and a constant run around from the
poker site trying to collect their money that was essentially won using free money. Is this true, is it something that happens often? Also, I have heard you cannot make a withdrawal without at least a 1x rollover?? I don't understand this either but I'm assuming it means if I deposit 50 bucks and then proceed to play and win another 50, bringing my balance to 100, that only the 50 that was won is what is eligible for a withdrawal? Am I correct to assume this or if not could someone please explain.
And coming to a close, I am also wondering what information I will need to provide to make these withdrawals. My license does not match my new address and I have read that this can be a problem and if it will alleviate the hassle, I will just go get a new ID. And I had mentioned earlier that I was looking for the fastest withdrawal options as possible but now all I want is what is going to be the most dependable with the least amount of hassle. I have heard it can be difficult for these off shore accounts to deposit the money into US bank accounts. So if accepting a check is going to take a little longer but will CONSISTENTLT and without any trouble get me my money, that is definitely the way I'm leaning. But again, any advice or personal stories on the matter would greatly be appreciated.
One last thing I just remembered, as I plan on going with Bovado, I am a little hesitant because I read somewhere that Bovado is moving away from Poker and therefore it's not as convienent to play there for any number of reasons? Is this true, will I have any trouble finding omaho hi/lo tables with them?
Well guys, sorry for the length of my post but I have many concerns and as playing cards is typically my source of income and casinos no longer being my best option, I really want to make the best decision as I begin this adventure in playing online. So again, any and all advice will be appreciated. Lucky for me I guess that it will take a week to get some.money together to get going, thus gicing me time to properly research and ask all the questions and not allowing me to blindly leap into anything. So, please his help.
Thanks for everything,
-John
