I'm thinking about trying western union for a deposit for a poker site, I've always just used netspend because I was told WU was sketchy. Apparently there are WU agents all over the place, do you have to give them your info or is it really quick and convenient, can someone tell me how it works? Would be much appreciated

Just go to the Western Union website and look for yourself. It's pretty simple and takes just a couple of minutes.

I'm referring to the process of actually going in, I looked at the site but I also read some stories about people getting interrogated by WU reps for transfers to shady people in the phillipines. That is my big concern

if you are talking about bovada, then WU is fine, however.....I would recommend using Moneygram if its available in your area cause if you ever want to make a cashout, Moneygram is cheaper than WU....but they both work fine

Never used it to deposit, I always use credit cards (or EFT back when you could do that from the US).

Have used WU for withdrawals a few times. It quick & painless. For smallish withdrawals, the mom & pop agents like you find in convenience stores or most grocery stores don't ask for anything other than your ID and MTCN. Once I had a withdrawal too big for the small places and had to go to a bank. Being a bank, they won't make change for a quarter without filling out a bunch of paperwork including SSN. It's the equivalent of opening an account, basically. But I did it and got my money -- they didn't question why or what it was about, and if they do you don't have to tell them. Just make something up to shut them up.

Its easy... I picked my money up from a grocery store chain. It was for 2k. I don't know what your withdrawal would be but I would make sure its a place that you know would have enough cash like dmorris said. Me personally I would avoid the bank.

It is the only way besides moneygram I can deposit on Bovada,

It is SUPER easy.

You get a form and fill out your info and theirs. Hand the cashier $. Get a control number and email/call Bovada.

Funds are there in 10-20 minutes.

I have probably done WU over 20 times over the past few years, never had an issue with it. Only times ever would be if the cashier spelled a name wrong, in which they correct it right there.

Can you withdrawal your money right away from Bovada or is there a waiting period like 7 business days before you are allowed to withdrawal?

I used WU to deposit on Carbon about a year ago It was real simple, just tell the site you are going to make a deposit an they send you the recipient's name. So then you go to the WU location, 711 for me, and you fill out the form and give it to the cashier along with the money. Then the money is credited to your poker account, which took less than a couple hours for me.

Had to use it to deposit on Black Chip Poker, as they did not acknowledge Scotland as a country haha. The process was okay but I was not happy with the fees I had to pay...
