Funding your reloads or new deposits....

Here is the updated section of paypal's User Agreement effective January 22, 2009 (yep, from the fine print).

"Prohibited Activities
You may not use the PayPal service for activities that:
"5. involve gambling, gaming and/or any other activity with an entry fee and a prize, including, but not limited to casino games, sports betting, horse or greyhound racing, lottery tickets, other ventures that facilitate gambling, games of skill (whether or not it is legally defined as a lottery) and sweepstakes unless the operator has obtained prior approval from PayPal and the operator and customers are located exclusively in jurisdictions where such activities are permitted by law.""

Well, I dont know any sites that use Paypal anyway... I use instadebit and Moneybookers, used to use neteller but they banned Canucks. Dont trust one of them for a minute... I keep my accounts small just in case.

Yeah, I never read the Paypal agreement in detail, but I thought they always had a policy of not allowing any poker site use their service.

Why, what's wrong with them? I'm just getting started on eBay with them...

Nothing is 'wrong' with them IMO. Have had a PayPal account for years.

One word of caution on eBay though. PayPal is owned by eBay and they both favor the buyer in dispute cases. Unlike most credit card processing companies, PayPal can and does deduct a buyer dispute amount immediately from a seller account. You then have 7 days to provide whatever documentation they demand and 30 days to reinstate your positive balance if the dispute amount caused your balance to fall below -0-. ('restoring' your account, as they call it)

Chargebacks and dispute claims are also part of PayPal's reporting practices to credit reporting agencies. Please, for your own sake, READ the entire PayPal User Agreement. It also has extensive sections regarding eBay transactions.

paypal for depositing in poker sites would make things so much easier. that way we could sell crap on ebay, get paid for it, and go straight to playing some poker! haha at least that is what i would do, i had been hoping they became an option at some point but looks like that aint gonna happen

It appears that my post was deleted, maybe because I mentioned a site that does not sponsor this board.

There is one way to use PayPal to play online poker for money, though not at the usual pure-poker sites.

Offering to set up transfers on the forums is not allowed, even if it's just telling people to IM you, etc. So stop, plzkthx.

I'm not offering to set up anything, only to tell people how to use PayPal to transfer money into an online site that accepts PayPal, and also has online poker.

Wish we could use paypal for poker! Since they're quick with deposits and withdrawals directly to or from from my account. Everything is usually done in 48 hours.

I wish they did though???

I think paypal is a great way to fund a gaming site...anyone can make an account and anyone can fund it via their bank account. It's only funded when it clears whereas others will give you credit up to 100dollars which can lead to bounced checks...bad Karma there.
