Take the bonus or not?

I recently realized that when I take these 100% or 25% bonuses during a deposit?

I lock myself into this 25x or 10x play through, so if I deposited $100 ? I have spend minimum $1000 before I can withdraw.

So I no longer take the bonus because I realize I get locked in.

Does anyone else skip the bonus because of the playthrough requirements they typically have?

If you can make the playthrough comfortably through regularly playing then take it. If it is a bit of a stretch then no. Also if you plan to withdraw in the near future then no as well.

Example for me I play on pokerstars mostly if they offer me any sort of bonus or promotion I take it in a heartbeat because I know I will be able to make the playthrough with my normal play unfortunately they don't offer me regularly. I play maybe 2 or 3 tourneys every week on Party/ACR so I don't take any bonus from them.

Also if I plan to play slots on a casino most of the times I take a bonus because my motives are to play for fun I don't really expect to win anything.

On 888 you get a casino token for a 1k free roll if you play the casino on Thursday. There is also a depositors promotion which I take advantage of for $21 ($20 is a minimum deposit) with a 3x play-through on specific slots. I found this to be an almost break-even situation when the additional player points are accounted for. I play the minimum bet and this has worked out for me....though I really don't recommend playing slots.

If its a crazy 100x play through I will avoid it however if I am going to be playing poker anyway and its not unreasonable I don't see a reason not to do it. If you need the money asap if you take down a tourney probably best you don't use it because you'll want your funds asap.

I mean if someone knows they won't really withdraw the money or they need the money quickly they can easily take the bonus and grind it out. How ever if you plan on withdrawing after winning a tournament or something then taking the bonus isnt the best idea.

Yea. I feel trapped by bonus play through requirements. A long time ago, the play through was changed as I was playing. I felt tricked and won't do it again.

I have learned to avoid deposit bonuses, especially on the first deposit.

I never choose the bonus, in many cases you will have to play cash tables to unlock and on some smaller rooms maybe even lock up your ability to withdraw until requirements are met. ugh

You should never take the deposit bonus, its like a bait for new customers.

On 888 those casino bonuses are almost impossible to clear, almost.

I got a $25 bonus that had to be wagered 100x to clear it and any winnings from it. Somehow I lasted long enough to get enough points to go through 6 levels ($40 worth of gold tokens) and clear $373.02 and was able to withdraw it all a few days ago.

Normally I agree that bonuses are hardly worth it and I mostly use them to get points to climb levels, but if you can get ridiculously lucky it is possible to clear them.

If you take a bonus when depositing from the poker room, you need to know that you need to play it back according to the rules of the room.
