I've used MasterCard Gift Card many times & have never had a problem (have probably used them well over 50x (100 might be closer to the exact number)).
Not as often these days but if there's some deposit bonus on a site where the required amount to deposit is <$100, I will consider grabbing a card for it.

I also use direct bank transfer with a couple sites.

It was so much better back when Canadians could use:
neteller
epassporte
skrill (a.k.a. Moneybookers)

For someone just getting started & hoping to get playing on a site (someone from canada that is, as I have no experience with deposit/withdrawal procedures & requirements from other countries) the MasterCard Gift Card is going to be your best & fastest method. Be sure to read the card as some of them have restrictions for internet/online gaming (ie. the GiftCards at PostOffice outlets).

Once you've been up & running for awhile you might need to look into another method of deposit as you'll need to get your account set up so that you can make withdrawals (you cannot withdrawal to a gift card). Some folks use ukash (mentioned in post above) & others I know use instadebit. Personally I just set it up with my bank & do direct transfers with the sites.

The only time I've ever heard of anyone having a problem while using a MasterCard Gift Card is if they try to use it right after purchasing it (I've seen this happen twice). Some retailers suggest that you wait for 1 hour prior to using the card. I personally wait for a couple of hours just to be sure (& as mentioned already, I've never had a problem).
