I was thinkiing about putting some money on pokerstars and was looking at their deposit options and saw this interesting thing. Apparently you sign up and they send you to a vendor who will give you a visa debit card which you can add funds to AND withdraw funds to. The visa card can be used at any retail store that accepts visa and you can withdraw money at an ATM.

Here is some more info on it.
Play Poker for Real Money - Visa Debit Card

Has anyone tried this? Does it work for Americans? Are there a lot of fees for withdrawing/depositing? This would be a great new deposit option for me as well as many others as long as it works smoothly and the fees arent too bad.

Sportsbook Poker accepts US and Canadian Credit Cards - Including Visa, Mastercard & Prepaid!

I'm waiting for mine in the mail. The way I read it the only fee is a $3.95 per month service fee and that's only charged for the months you have funds on the card.

That card is a paytru visa and works well with only poker stars, Unfortunately its Poker Stars. I cashed out with it (not that I was winning) but just to check out the process, and was able to go to corner and withdraw instantly. Hope some better sites offer the same type of card soon. As far as the small fees for using it, who cares as long as it's safe.

Thanks, but dont think they offer that in Denmark. Banking is a bit conservative here. Boiles down to restrictions based on protection of a national system called Dankort.

Gonna have a chat with my bank. What i need is a separate card, that cant be used for anything above its limit - prepaid or in the designated account. Separate, fully accountable poker account where i can throw the money into that i use to feed the other donkeys.

ePssporte

Anyone have any experience with ePassporte? I have one, but have never used it for online poker. Just though I'd check, before trying.

Thanks. I did get verified, and I've used to buy some stuff online, just never used it at a poker site. Guess I'll try depositing to PokerStars and see what happens.

Just a question..would any prepaid visa or mastercard work on these sites? Anyone had any experience with them..i've only played freerolls since they have made it so difficult and just wonder if anyone else uses them.

I've heard, but can't confirm, that the Green Dot prepaid cards worked at PokerStars. Also the AllAccess [be aware of the fact that there is an AllAccess and an All-Access card, but I'm only referring to the AllAccess card from NetSpend] and MyWebAtm cards have been mentioned as well. I'm going to take a look at the AllAccess card from NetSpend myself because I've heard that it can be loaded through paypal without a load fee. I haven't confirmed that either.

I don't think Greendot works at all. I've heard that the All Access Visa always works (did for me).

I'm using ePassporte for PokerStars. Apparently, some credit card companies will not approve transactions to ePassporte though. Capital One declined it even though I had plenty of funds available. Keybank worked fine though. The verification process is somewhat unusual in that they make a micro withdrawal and you have to call your credit card company and get that exact amount and enter it on their website, but it only took about 5 minutes and then the transactions happen instantly.

Good luck.

Yes - they are sold as gift cards and many are reloadable. My local drugstore carries them... they are the same cards that ePassporte issues (if you pay the 35 to get a physical card)

I have used the ePassporte with Poker4ever and jungle without a problem

I've also used the Ecocard with Poker4ever, jungle, Poker.com/Carbonpoker also with no problems

EcoCard is nice as you can open it and fund it from a poker site without incurring any charges. So its great if all you want to do is move money from poker site to poker site. For me it is too expensive to move the money from EcoCard to my bank as it is a bank wire instead of an EFT transaction and my Bank in the Boonies charges an arm and a leg for bank wire

Let's see if I've got this straight. I can go to the store and buy a VISA pre-paid card. Can I then immediately withdraw my PokerStars (or FullTilt for that matter) money to that card? Or do I have to make a deposit first? (Also what are the minimum deposit/withdrawal amounts I must make?)
Thanks.

You can't generally use the prepaid debit cards to cashout, although payTru, the one advertised by PS, to some odf their account holders anyway, can be used to withdraw.. At least, from PS.

I used All Access VISA gift cards to fund both PokerStars and full tilt poker. Never a problem, except that finding the cards in my town is difficult since all the poker players snatch them up. You can not withdraw on the gift cards, however.

Western Union seems like the best way to me they are basically instant and I know most sites will even cover the fee. If you have to pay its only around 9.99 they have lowered it considerably because of moneygram.

Has anyone got one of them????

Hi all.
I have googled all over the net for the safe and sheep abilities for changing e-currency to cash. Since the New York Credit Union crash at the beginning of this year it is hard to find alternative for the G-card.
I was registered at FavoCard to get there card which as they promise will provide a quick withdrawals and e-currency exchanging services, but since the time I registered I was not able to get the card. But last week I have received the news letter telling that FavoCard visa electron debit card is available for ordering. From the time I registered the card fees have changed, but they look similar like the other cards, but have some benefits that suites me.
Has anyone already had such card? Any info will be appreciated. There is a lot of info over the internet but it is differs from site to site and it is hard to make an objective opinion.

prepaid MasterCard for poker

I haven't tried any Visa cards, but there is a prepaid MasterCard that I've used at PokerStars: Card Sharp Card
It's a bit pricey, but it's hard to come by an instant card for americans, and it works great!
