So I do online gambling on different sites and I have self excluded from all of them over the years.

Couldn’t remember if pokerstars was one of them and I stupidly deposited $500 CAD ($360 USD) and tried to play. Turns out playing privileges were all revoked so I couldn’t even use the money. Why was I even allowed to deposit it in the first place?

I initiated a withdrawal and the next day it was rejected on the grounds that I didn’t wager 1x of the bet. Of course I didn’t, as I have no access to do that. Messaged support and I’m trying to get the money back. I haven’t heard a peep from them so now I’m convinced they’ve stolen my money.

First of all, I shouldn’t have been allowed to deposit. I also lost about $50 just on the conversion for the deposit. Second of all, it appears that this is a scheme in order to keep people’s money. I’ve sent a few emails and even though they rejected my withdrawal in 1 day, I’m still waiting 2 days later for a response to get my money back. This is straight robbery because my hands are tied at this point.

How do I go about getting my money returned?

Well first off why deposit if you werent sure in the first place?
Yes they shouldnt let you deposit if things were revoked
maybe it got revoked after the deposit though.

You probably will have to call them up and then sort it out there

If they wont do anything maybe call
Isle of Man Gambling Supervision Commission

and ask them to help you with it

think PokerStars won't resort it via email but they would via a phone call.

Hope this helps a bit.

Just wait for support to look at your message. This might take a while, but when someone get into it, I am sure, it will be sorted out. Just for the record when I contacted their support in the midst of the COVID-19 induced poker boom, their response time was 1 month. So just because nobody has taken immideate action, does not mean, you are being ignored. The staff is just busy with other cases :)

“First off,,, stop typing like this,,, and type,,, like a normal,,, human being.”

No one is screaming, this is a written piece so how is that possible?

Maybe you should keep your comments to your ugly, self. And I wasn’t talking about your physical appearance (which for the record is quite disturbing to look at) but your lack of empathy and your inadequate, keyboard warrior skills. How about you stop showing that you’re the stupid one, and act with a little more class?

Thanks, I appreciate it!

Makes sense :) I just get super paranoid because I’ve been burned by these companies before 👎🏼

Pokerstars always had a fast support, but since covid time started they are taking a longer time to answer, the last time I needed them it took almost a week to get a response.
And I'm really surprised that they accepted your deposit because I always thought that when you ask to be excluded, the rooms should not accept any deposits and only withdraws. Did you excluded yourself only from poker? or from all (sports bets and casino)? Because if it's only from poker, maybe that's why they accepted your deposit.

Isn't there an easy way to revoke your self-exclusion ?
You obviously want to play there...

Next time you better check your account status by
looking it up instead of probing it with a deposit ;)

im sorry to tell you but he is kinda right. his wording was a bit harsh but why would you deposit first before confirming you can play there? good luck with stars, takes ages now (if) they ever gonna answer you. the conversion rate they will for sure not give back and probably you have to pay it a second time  you hopefully learned your lesson ;)
