When you cashout online and opt to receive a check do they send a personal check or payroll check? Thanks

It won't be a "payroll" check but will be a business check. If you're US-facing since UIGEA, it will be an innocuously named business or DBA, it won't say "poker" anything on it.

If you cash out from Carbon, it will be a check from a third party, drawn on a Canadian Bank.

I just deposit mine and make sure I have it covered for awhile. I haven't had any problems in the last couple of years, but did have a couple of Carbon's checks bounce a few years ago. They (Carbon) made them good. It seems they were in the process of changing the third party.

I cash out for $300 to $350. I'm a micro player so it takes a few months to reach that level. Try not to let it get much higher in case there's another "Black Friday".

Yeah, the US-facing sites tend to play a lot of "payment processor roulette" given the state of US banking laws around processing egaming payments. Even Canadian processors that many are using now will drop out or get shutdown, so it's not uncommon to have a rash of bounced checks as processors change and bank accounts are closed before your check clears.

That's why when something like WU, MoneyGram, or wire is an option, I always choose it, although it probably isn't financially feasible for smallish withdrawals.
