Ok guys I'm new here on Cardschat but I have had something occur that has never happened before dealing with Bovada payouts via Checks. I have done extensive researching on the matter and haven't seen anything online on the topic yet, so this needs to be made aware. At 5pm this afternoon I received an unauthorized debit taken out of my CHASE account. The same account I've used a dozen times or more to deposit my payouts from BOVADA. At first, I thought I was hacked, until I got on the phone with the higher ups from Chase and was told by the International Collection Agency department that the check, from one of the banks, (that I can't remember now but was Canadian) had been closed. So, what has happened now is the amount of 125.10$ had been taken back out of my account by CHASE and now that money is lost in translation somewhere. I am wondering has anyone came across this before because I haven't seen anything on any forum anywhere. Furthermore, I obviously said nothing about the check being from Bovada, but knew immediately I needed to contact them so I did. Now besides the headache this has caused, I'm pretty happy with how the customer representative handled my situation, but it's a waiting game until I get the letter from Chase telling me what has happened to the check/bank account. Until then I am out 125$ BUT does this raise concerns in the future from US as customers about BOVADA? Any feedback or questions will be helpful thank you.

I would also like to mention that I received that check February 4th and it cleared the 5th. That's close to 2 weeks that money was in my account and usable.

I'm sorry to hear about your situation. I have cashed out with Bovada a handful of times and I haven't had any issues with them ever, with the most recent one being within the past 6 months.

It's hard to tell the future of this industry within the states, but there is a certainty to this that you've experienced. Their customer service is top of the line that us US players wont be able to get any other site. You didn't go into detail but it sounds like after speaking with a rep with Bovada they took care of you, which I am glad to hear.

Hopefully they're able to cut you a check again and let the process be smooth next time. GL man.

Yeah I didn't want the thread to be a book long lol. But the customer service representative said that I'll need to send the documents in via email when i get them from Chase and that they'll look into it. Hopefully it will all get resolved and it'll be smooth sailing after that. Just like you I've deposited checks from all over a dozen times from Bovada and have never had an issue ranging 50 bucks to 900. But what baffles me is how does a check clear for a good 10 buisness days, then gets taken back out and discredited because that bank or bank account has been closed? I'm almost more pissed at Chase than anything.

Lol $125 isn't 2 bad... Screw Chase see my thread in deposits and withdrawals.. Bovada should take care of you, atleast you haven't had a giant debacle going on with chase/bovada for 3 months! Good luck!

I've had multiple problems cashing out on Bovada, including bounced checks. I don't play there any more because of it.

If it happens again, I won't be playing there anymore either. Do you play on any other site?

Added up date to the problem.

I've now been charged a 10$ fee as of today from Chase pulling the check back out. According to Bovada, the rep said they WILL take care of any additional charges this may have caused. So it's still a waiting game until I get the letter and information from Chase.

I once deposited a check, like almost 10 years ago, from one of the merge sites. $100 check. Someone at the bank made a mistake tuned it into $1,000. I took the money out. Then I got a letter, they wanted to fix their mistake. I put the money back.

Blue Bank-I also contacted our Fraud area on your behalf and was
informed that the account was restricted as a result of a
check that was deposited in the amount of $3,000.20. The
issuance of this check could not be verified by the maker
of the check.

You will need to call 1-877-691-8086 during normal
business hours with a direct number for Jupom Marketing so
that our Fraud area can call to verify the check.

Bovada response- This is with regards to the check for $3,000 that was being held by your bank.

We've tried contacting our provider to see if we can assist with the release of the funds, however; there is nothing further we can provide. Consult with your financial institution in order to resolve this.

Thanks,
Bovada Customer Service

So when the bank won't cash the check because they can't get in contact with anybody to verify the check it becomes your problem to solve and bovada doesn't have any solution to solve a problem only they can solve.. So easy to deposit but as soon as it comes to problems involving getting your it becomes your problem/fault, but don't worry if you have a problem depositing they will be the first to call = problem with withdrawals last to call and leave you in the dark for going on 3 months.. Bovada is just as bad as any other dirty online poker site and the only thing they offer is a bigger player pool

How long ago did this happen to you donk? I've never had an issue with any bovada checks but I don't bank at chase.

I just cashed out 3k. I received my check today and although it is still Canadian, it is from a different bank than the last 3 have come from. I'm not too worried but with online poker you can never be 100% if your in the US.

I'll post back after I deposit my check tomorrow.

This issue with the check has been going on since november 24th I believe and now Bovada claims they can't do anything for me... They tell me to figure out how to resolve it with my bank lol my bank has already told me in person, over the phone, and through email (which i sent to bovada) that they won't give funds until they come in contact with somebody at company on check... Bovada doesnt even offer me advice on what to do lol... How can I solve issue with bank when only bovada can solve it? Lol just so funny they won't even give me solution to the issue... Asked them it was possible to just cancel check and put money back in my account, which I will prolly lose back because I'm so pissed over the situation and they don't even answer the question, just respond with some uniform answer they send when they know their ****ing u..

This sounds like a nightmare and I would personally be devastated if it happened to me. Not only to be out 3k but to want to play poker and not be able to for fear I'm donating my hard earned winnings.

It makes me curious as to how many people try to rip bovada off by making claims like this? I'm not accusing you by any means. I'm just so used to getting excellent customer service from them that I'm surprised that they haven't resolved your issue.

Anyways I deposited my check today and all went as usual. It should clear in a few days and I'll post back when I have a final result, which should be cash in my hand.

Sorry to hear about your trouble cashing out. I withdrew $400 twice via check. The first time it was through a Canadian bank and cashed fine and only took about a week reach me in the mail. The second time was weird, I didn't receive a check for a few weeks and started to get concerned. Then when I was paying my credit card which is linked to the site I found that there had been a $400 credit to my account from an online vendor. I guess this may be easier or safer for them than the Canadian bank, but it would have been nice of them to inform me so I wasn't stressing about not getting the check.

So you may want to check the account you used to make your deposit.

I was almost in the same boat as you. They should have sent out emails saying that they had a new with drawl method and that they were setting it to default.

Luckily I always double check my info and I noticed that the page was different right away. So when I noticed what I was I was doing I just made sure to change my cash out method to check.

I didn't deposit off of my bank card so the new method won't work for me. But if you don't like it you don't have to use it either just make sure your withdrawing in check for next time..

I've never heard of anything like this with Bovoda. I did figure that there'd be problems here and there with these things and am very sad that you had to experience it. I'm just glad that they have great customer service and really take the time to evaluate a situation and correct it when these things occur.
