Hello, I'm a new member here and I have a question about deposits to Bovada or Carbon.

I used to be able to use my regular visa Debit Card to deposit to Bovada but now I am getting declined. In doing research about the best current deposit methods, I have found conflicting information about prepaid visa cards and was wondering if anyone has recently been able to deposit to Bovada or Carbon with a NetSpend Visa card? I have one being mailed to me right now and it claims to be "net-enabled" and able to be used for international transactions but I've heard some people say it works and some say it does not work lately. Am I wasting my time with Netspend? Is there another card or source that is better?

Any current success or failure stories about prepaid cards or any other methods would be greatly appreciated as I've been chomping at the bit to be the tragic, runner-runnered bubble boy of as many online tourny's as possible in the near future.

Thanks in advance!

Netspend is a great option. I went down to rite-aid or Family Dollar and bought one myself. Remember you will have to get a refiller, a card that you put money on at locations around you. Now I am not sure about deposits.

It usually works on bovada, but I have had a hard time finding any prepaid card that works at Carbon....Stay away from the Green dot cards..

I used it today on Bovada, no problem, but make sure you put more money than the amount you are trying to buy in for, because netspend change 1$ for every transaction (for international fee), and Bovada will charge you 4.7% on your deposit, so if you were to deposit 50$, your total amount would be around 54$, if you don't have enough to cover the extra fees, is not going to work.

Nice! Thanks for the heads-up and the reminder about the fees.

BTW, as a fellow Bovada player, do you know why there isn't a review or much chat about Bovada here on Cardschat? I've always thought Bovada was best for US players since BF so I'm a bit confused.

Thanks.

Just tried right now. Waste of $3.95 + $2.50 + $2.95

I just loaded my netspend card for the first time after getting it in the mail for th specific purpose of using it on bovada.lv because the customer support person i talked to told me to get this specific card.

Now I paid $3.95 to load it. Tried to buy in, get declined every time I try.

So I have to pay them another $2.50 to take my money back in ATM fee, plus another $2.95 that the ATM company charges, just to get my money off of there. And of course, it won't be exactly $20 like the ATM gives out, so i'll probably end up spending another $1 to $2 dollars for POS cleaning the rest off there. And there will probably be a dollar or two that just gets left on there (aka in netspends pocket).

This whole thing is a scam, don't fall for it. $10 bucks isn't a lot of money but think how many people netspend has ripped off this same way, it all adds up for free money for netspend, and wasted time and money of someone who just wanted to play cards. Even though their payouts page just says "Payouts are not processed." Or something similarly cryptic and uninviting.

Anyone have any idea what's up with that ?

Western Union was a good option for me. It was a lot less hassle then I anticipated. fyi. Carbon has been very slow to payout.

bovada

I love the ring games on bovada ! the action is great and there are plenty of tables at most limits . the best thing about the site is when you cashout a check will be delivered to your address in 5 to 8 days ! no runarounds + stalling that seems to happen at the other poker sites .

i must say whatever a site needs for a deposit one should make sure of the withdraw method they would need to use for a withdraw and if that is possible for you. Ive seen a lot of people get burnt for this reason. Check it out for it doesnt take much to do so.

minimum is $25, so if u did $50 or 54 it would work, you just might start with $46-47 instead of $50 ;)
