re: Poker & Need Help Vanilla Mastercard Gift Card
With the UIGEA going into full effect a few months ago, virtually all credit card options are drying up. We're already seeing those that waited up until the last minute, like All Access and now probably Vanilla, shutting players off. The DOJ has a serious burr in its saddle about illegal gambling, and now that UIGEA is fully enforceable I don't expect many companies will want to keep risking it.
The quickest and best options for deposits/withdrawals have always been through direct checking account deposit/withdrawal. It goes by many names, including eChecks, bank draft, etc. but it's pretty common and very reliable. Not sure about Canada but I would assume they would have something similar for you.
I know some people say they don't have checking accounts, but I can't see why anyone of gambling age (i.e. adults) would not have one. Hell I had my first one when I was like 14, and that was a LOOONG time ago. You can get 'em for free at most banks, and it tends to be one of those things you need to support yourself. And these days you don't even need to bother with checks, just the debit card.
Worst case, the direct bank options get closed off too. It's still not a total loss, we'll just have to revert to mailing paper checks back and forth, or using Western Union or other services. There will always be a way, even if it isn't convenient.
