entropay sent me this email a few days ago:

We're sorry to let you know that due to new restrictions imposed on card issuers, we can no longer provide virtual Visa cards to people living outside of the European Economic Area (EEA) and to people living in Norway.

This just made Entropay useless for online gambling and pretty much everything else.

ecoPayz did same two weeks ago. They cited it as being a mastercard decision so not surprised to learn that visa did the same as well.

Yep. This sucks. Entropay was my second "goto" for transactions. Now I have to review how to get money in and out without being gouged.

For the Canadians, are there any preferences?
I'm just testing the electronic transfer at party poker to see how long a withdrawal takes and I use Ecopayz for several sites.

I'm not happy at all about this decision.
I hope that entropay and ecoPayz will offer to Canadian something else similar to virtual card.

With Entropay, I have less than $10 so it is too small to send it to a site and too small to send to my bank...I have to spend it somehow.

With Ecopayz, I have not had any notifications but I can't seem to deposit funds at Titan. Does Titan still accept Ecopayz?

I am not sure about Titan because it is restricted in my area.

Ecopayz is not closing just the cards are discontinued outside of EU. Easy to know if it applies to you go to eco prepaid cards and click on get your card you will get the error notification if you are affected.

Most Poker rooms and casinos have $10 minimum deposit so if you have access to your cards on entropay maybe buy something I suggest ebay there are some great cheap stuff on there.

Online gaming seems to be a much more complicated place than it was ten years ago when I first started..funding and withdrawing currencies from accounts and legislation in various countries banning certain sites... I have an eBay account and I will take your suggestion joeisi (eBay didn't occur to me as a venue for online wallets).

Minimizing currency conversion fees, transaction fees, loss of interest income and time delay in withdrawing funds (depositing is a snap) aside from the cost of actually playing...rake and the break-even value of my time...are ever-present considerations. A checklist of "do's and don'ts" on CC for members in each country would be helpful such as what sites and what funding sources are available ranked according to safety and utility.
