11/25- Deposit check at chase bank.. Teller goes on and on how the check is fraud and that it won't be accepted
11/25- My bank account is shut off for fraudulent activity
11/26, 11/28, 11/29 Wednesday,Friday, Saturday I'm in contact with chase bank trying to figure out why my account has been deactivated and what I need to do to fix the issue. CS tells me that the check won't be accepted and will be sent back monday
12/2- I call chase again trying to figure out what needs to be done for them to process the check.. They say get them the number for the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce and they will call the bank to clarify if the check has been processed on their end.. They call CIBC and the CIBC tells them that they need two things from chase bank.. Chase Bank claims they can't provide these things and have no idea what they're talking about.. So I ask Chase if they have no plans of giving me the money from the check than can I get the check back from them and begin the process of getting another check from Bovada... Chase tells me that because they have already processed the check they're unable to return the check to me. Also that the company shouldn't need anything from them to prove why they won't return/accept the check!
Bovada- Tells me they won't cancel the check or allow me to get another check from them, until Chase writes them a letter on why they won't accept the check and returns the original check...
Anybody else ever run into these issues before cashing a bovada check at Chase?? Any help would be appreciated.. Really beginning to lose mind wondering if I will ever see any of this $3000 lol

My nutz just tightened up.

I just requested my first payout from Bovada yesterday morning. They immediately responded with a payout reference number and let me know that my request would be reviewed within 48 hours. I have been checking my messages on the Bovada website periodically. They actually have until tomorrow morning to respond, according to their procedures. But being the second afternoon, I thought that I might have heard something from them by today.

Being the suspicious type, not to mention quite bored, I decided to search CC for any posts regarding the Bovada cash out process to put my mind at ease. I seem to recall reading somewhere that the process was pretty straightforward and took about 3 weeks, which I understand to be about standard for reputable sites these days. But reading your post has me thinking about something that has kind of been nagging me.

From what I can recall, every time I receive an email from Bovada, the greeting always has my name uncapitalized. I noticed the same thing when I was submitting my payout request. Both my first and last name appear in all lower case letters. In fact before I actually submitted my request I tried to see if there was somewhere that I could edit my account details to make sure that my name was capitalized properly. I'm usually a stickler for that type of stuff, having been taught by very strict teachers in elementary school. I couldn't imagine myself entering my name in all lower case letters when I created my account. It's just not like me. At any rate, I couldn't find any place where I could edit the name on my account. Address, yes. Name, no. So since then I've had this feeling in the back of my mind. Somehow I imagine this automated system where someone clicks on my account, checks a box or two, types in a dollar amount and hits enter and a printer spits out a check with my name on it, using the information from my account details page. Imagine me imagining that check having my first and last name printed on it in all lower case letters. Imagine me imagining how unprofessional that would look and how much trouble I would have cashing said check.

So the first post that comes up is from someone saying that they are having difficulty cashing a Bovada payout check. Now imagine my nutz.

My nutz feel just a little bit better.

Shortly after making the above post, I checked my messages on Bovada one more time and found a message indicating that my payout has been processed and that I should be receiving my check in about 7 business days. That's a couple weeks faster than I was expecting, which is nice. However, receiving my payout check from Bovada was not really my concern as much as being able to cash that check. But having continued reviewing previous threads regarding Bovada cash outs, I haven't come across any other complaints. I hate to say that this seems to be a problem with your bank, not, Bovada. Whatever the issue, I hope that you get it resolved soon. As for me, I am going to remain cautiously optimistic, with my fingers crossed for the next 7 business days.

I don't think this problem is anything to due with Bovada.. Simply put I blame this situation on the bank teller who treated me like I was some criminal for cashing an international check and the fact she had my account suspended immediately after I cashed check... Really I blame this all on chase bex they have done nothing 2 try and verify the check, but want me 2 do all the ground work for them while they give me the run around on verifying it on their end...

Bovada recommends that you always deposit the check via atm. I did this at a major US bank and it went through just fine. Another friend went to a teller at a different bank, and they held the check in collections until it went through and charged him $35. I told him beforehand to deposit via atm, but he went the teller route and had to pay extra.

My check was drawn on a bank in Singapore, fwiw.

Ya beginning to wish I would of just asked for the check back when she accused me of trying to pass fraudulent checks.. Mine was from canada hoping that tomorrow I can contact the actual bank the check came from and have them verify it for chase.. I know the money is good just think the bank teller is responsible for all of these problems... Might go down and complain to the manager when it finally clears or take all my money out and be done with them when this process is over..

put the check through the ATM

When check arrives and per the instructions with it. Deposit it at the ATM. That way you will get no questions from the just above min. wage earning nosy teller. It should be fine...especially if it is not Chase Bank.

This has become a huge joke bovada claims phone number on back of check and chase claims they have no phone number... I have 3 days to solve this or they cancel my bank account and no way in hell will I be able to solve it

I believe you.. I just don't understand how they can't even give me a number to contact the person who is in charge of their bank accounts so my bank can verify it and be done with it.. If I took this check to any other chase bank or bank in Ohio.. I don't think I have these problems with it.. UNREAL!

They suck and the way they have treated me this last week is the last straw... I can't even talk on the phone to customer service anymore... Any questions regarding my account I must go down 2 the bank provide them with 2 forms of id and have bank personnel call customer service.. It's like their form of shaming for cashing an international check; just more and more questions like their the ****ing IRS lol... If they don't have this solved by monday simply gonna ask for a copy of the check and a letter why they refuse 2 cash it, after they already verified it and deposited money in my account..

So day 8 was a semi success.. Got a copy of the check from chase and of course no phone number was on the back (bovada said # should be on back of check)... Gives me a place 2 start I guess because after looking up the company who issued it they had no phone # to reach (didn't expect them 2 lol)... Now that I have the issuing bank address hopefully I will be able to get in the contact with somebody at this bank who can verify the check for chase..

Also would like 2 say that after talking 2 the chase banker today all the problems I'm having with my bank account are coming from Chase and the bank teller I gave this check 2

Sorry about your troubles.

I use Wells Fargo and I've had no trouble depositing any of my checks. There is a $5 foreign check fee, and you cannot deposit foreign checks in the ATMs --- but that's the extent of the difficulty. If you go into the bank, the checks deposit as quickly and easily as any other check. I'd recommend that, once this issue is resolved, you cancel your bank account and get a Wells Fargo account.

Ya that is what I'm thinking... Wish I wouldn't of rushed 2 cash this check and weighed my options before depositing in chase, after hearing the trouble other people had with them cashing international checks... The process they have put me through is a joke and I hope to god this bank up north will solve it this coming week

When the payout request submission page said "check by courier", I thought they were giving my postal delivery person a lot of credit. I must say that I was very pleasantly surprised when a FedEx courier rang my doorbell this afternoon and delivered my Bovada payout check. I requested my payout on Monday morning, and three day later, I have a check in my hand. And my name is properly capitalized. I have to say that I am way beyond satisfied with the process at this point. I am impressed.

Now comes the real test. Getting the money into my bank. But I have to admit in my case I may have a slight advantage in that regard. Having moved to Louisiana to live on my family's property a few years back, I now live in a small town, where the tellers at the bank are familiar with me and my family. So I don't really expect to have any problem.

Good luck to you on getting your situation resolved donkcentral.

I use Chase, I have never had a problem depositing a Bovada check. I do use the atm and i deposit numerous business checks at the same time. I think you had a very nosy teller that should have minded their own business. Good luck, EllyWriter LLC

Ya it looks like she is gonna ruin my broke college kid winter break lol, but ya I think if I would of had more money in my account instead of having degen account I would of been fine.. Also how fast Bovada gets the checks on your doorstep now is AMAZING!

Ok so I'm beginning to think I'm gonna get screwed out of this 3 grand... Really weird things going on.. Don't have a clue what 2 do lol

Ok so I've called this Canadian bank about 5 times now lol... Not 1 time has anybody answered the phone and this is after getting an extension from the corporate customer service lol... Day 17 is off to a good start! Best part is my car is acting up now and my life is in a tailspin!

what is the canadian bank if i may ask? I had a slight problem once depositing a check at pnc -- you can't depo foreign check in ATM there either -- so eventually after discussion with teller then manager they did eventually deposit it w/o collections or anything.

However, it was only about $100... if it were $3,000 I believe that they definitely would have investigated it further.

Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce! Lol I look today and it appears chase has moved their restrictions to my online access.... I can no longer see how much money is in my account and also Bovada has emailed me saying the money was taken out of their account on December 4th.. So this basically means that if I can't come up with a way 2 get this check verified, I will never be getting the money at all lol... Bovada said if this isn't the case than provide than with bank statements from 11/21 to 12/4... The problem is chase credited the $3000 to my account, but from the day I deposited the check my bank account has been frozen and I have been unable to access the money.. They won't lift these restrictions until they come in contact with somebody who can verify the funds have been sent.. This may be the biggest scam I've ever seen and their saying that they won't send the check 2 collections.. Amazing how many times u can call a canadian bank after getting an extension from their corporate customer service and still get no answer just goes to voicemail eventually.. You leave messages and they never return them lol..

Bovada checks are poison for me. It took me 19 months to get my last cashout , due to the unusable checks they sent me. The last 5 cashouts before that, 2 of the checks actually bounced. I had to submit a bank statment and everything to be reimbursed for bounced check fees. Sketch.

did u put the check into collection?
since it is foreign check?

got bounced one check from Merge, check bounced because the wrong way to deposit checks, think the correct way is to collect, if amount on check over think 1000?

PS: you may choose wire money. it is more secure.
good luck

Chase has told me they don't have collections or something along those lines? I don't what to do because I have never dealt with something along these lines.. This whole situation has gotten way out of hand and I wish I would of never rushed to simply throw this into a bank like the monopoly chase is lol.. However I'm thinking XXPXXP if I never receive anything from this check I'm simply done with the online poker life, until something legitimate comes about in the US poker scene

One thing that strikes me about this is that I just saw, or heard (wasn't really watching, but the T.V. was on) a Chase commercial last night. It caught my attention because it specifically mentioned their expertise in dealing with international transactions. I guess that was just bs, huh?
