I would stay away from intertops. I opened an account in Feb. 2016, deposited 20$ and ran my account up to 140$ doing some SnGo's and mostly freerolls. I just tried my first withdrawal for 50$ and this is the email I got:

"This email is to inform you that your payout request has been denied, due to not meeting the requirements of rule 5 of our Terms and Conditions for Intertops Poker Freerolls:

5. 50% of the Freeroll cash winnings have to be turned over as gross rake, before a player is eligible to withdraw these funds.

You accumulated freeroll winnings worth $90.57. We kindly ask you to generate $43.69 in gross rake before requesting a further withdrawal."

Of course I contacted customer support and they told me that I cannot withdraw a single penny until I give them 43.69$ more in rake.

WOW!! Must rake 50% for all freeroll winnings, that is INSANE!!!! So now I cannot even withdraw my initial 20$ until I pay 43.69$ of ransom (yes I use the word "ransom" because that is what it is). So be warned people, this is not a site for anybody who does freerolls.

One last thing, I noticed that CC has a freeroll now on Intertops (for 500$), good luck cashing out if you happen to finish in the top 5, or God forbid, in first place.

I think that we should read ALL the terms and conditions of a Poker Room,
BEFORE Joining them, before deposit...

IMO this isn't a problem if you are a winning player, just stay away from freerolls for a while until you grind out the rake req and build the br even more and then make a cashout.

Easy peasy, tbh I'm surprised more sites don't restrict cashout on freeroll winnings since freerolls are hosted to encourage people to play and generate rake etc.

That is easy to say, but to be honest, raking almost 45$ in rake will take a fair bit of time and what reward will I get? I will be able to withdraw my winnings, kinda sucks if you ask me. If I am gonna take time to rake, I will do it on a site that rewards my playing like Microgaming network (Betsafe/Bettson) where if you rake 100 hands in a week you get a 3000 euros freeroll on Sundays and a 1000 euros freeroll on Saturday, and no stupid restrictions on withdrawing your freeroll winnings.

One last thing, Intertops has some good freerolls, but I doubt I will ever play them again because honestly whats the point? If you win a big amount you are then stuck to rake 50% of it. Kinda takes all the fun out of winning a tournament, wouldn't you agree?

45$ in rake might seem like a lot, but any decent volume will cover it off in no time. Grind some 2nl for a couple of weeks and it would surely cover that rake amount.

I guess I look at it from a grinder perspective (don't currently grind much but have at times in the past where I could puke when I look at the amount of rake paid lol).

I would just consider it motivation to play more and try and keep winning, so no I would have to disagree that it would take the fun out of winning a freeroll (because it wouldn't for me, a win is still a win regardless of how much more I need to play to have to cash out).

I don't play in freerolls to win in hopes of withdrawing the small amount of the win, but rather to build or pad my bankroll which I'm going to play with anyhow so having to rake 50% of freeroll winnings to cash out would never be an issue for me I guess.

would argue that the $ of the hours rating is fairly bad if trying to do this.
in the money EV , yes it is easy to grind the rakes with decent amount of hands by playing cash tables or whatever.

but int he $EV or hours , it is not worth it.
because, with 90bux or something , if he could withdraw and deposit to other site with more traffic and add together with more bankroll, he could play higher limit... like NL25. would say why not.

the other reason is that ...don't think there are so many traffic on intertops worth grind at that site.

there is a fair amount of cash table traffic at on the Horizon network (think thats the current name of the network) i just dont see much higher stakes going. if this network cashed out freeroll winnings without forcing peeple to generate rake it then they wold "jungle poker" themselves to death. I dont see a problem with this as id rather see a room make money and prosper so I know I will be paid once i requet a cashout.

what's the difference between gross rake and net rake ?
Maybe stupid question, but I actually never been that good in understanding rake issues.

For example....Bee won $85 in the freeroll...
Does she have to play $ 42.50 in buy-ins to be able to withdraw if she wishes, or does it mean really $42.50 in rake, which would mean lots of games ?

Sorry for asking, but I'm a real dummy, especially when it comes to things like this.

Maybe to cash out 85$ from freeroll

Maybe need to play for 425,00$ in Buy in .

Yeah this, since their rake fee is 10% on sng's and mtt's .... cash games would be the quickest way to grind through rake on there since they get more traffic than the sng's.

I will add however, this is why they are requiring the rake on freeroll winnings especially because they are trying to get people to play vs winning freeroll money and withdrawing it .... that does nothing for building traffic on their site and essentially defeats the purpose of them offering freerolls to entice people to play there.

I just noticed yesterday that they have a bunch of changes on their freerolls that look to make them friendly times for me at least so will likely play a few of those and have no issues playing through the rake as mentioned since I couldn't be bothered wanting to withdraw small amounts to move around .... I would love to see their traffic increase but guess its doubtful since everyone seems to just want to withdraw any decent freeroll winnings vs grinding up a bankroll.

I've never played on Interops (never actually even heard of it before today), but I have played on a site where nothing was as it seemed. Everything that was posted in large clear print was deceptive. When you found out that things didn't work as advertised you had to contact Support to get the real facts. Oddly, they were very open and good at explaining things in their e-mail, but when they referred to the 'posted' fine print, even that didn't read as they explained it.

To me, it just meant that this was a site that would never get the lion's share of my business.
