I've been reading around that you can deposit on Merge specifically on Carbon with a giftcard. Has anyone had success in doing this? if so, how long ago did you do this? I'm thinking of using a Vis giftcard that I got a couple weeks ago that still has about $50.00 on it. Any feedback would be appreciated. thanks!

Green Dot cards work, but you have to pay a monthly fee for the card. I don't think people have been having any luck with gift cards.

Does the card say something like "this card can only be used in the United States" or something similar? A lot of gift cards you can buy now have that restriction (more so than a couple years ago), and you won't be able to deposit onto a poker site with it, as the processors are offshore.

There are still some gift cards that will work, though, from what I hear. I have been considering reloading on Merge when all of these issues finally get sorted out, and might buy a Chase visa gift card, which can be used internationally. No guarantee that it'll work, though...

Correct. If the card says only in the U.S., you are out of luck...Just make sure its international and you should be fine.

AccountNow Prepaid Visa Cards (Reload with Greendot, Moneygram, etc.). Yes this is an international card. It has worked for me more than 5 times now... never a kink or declined message... You can obtain an AccountNow card for free online. True, there is a $9.95 monthly fee for the card, but to me its worth it.

Also, I know it is not prepaid, but some banks* Credit and Debit have worked for me too. I have deposited using both options on Carbon Poker, BlackChip Poker, and Hero Poker.

Hope this helps.
Moe

Edit: I have had NO SUCCESS with Vanilla Visa Giftcards, and other already loaded prepaid cards... Main reason being is that you HAVE TO HAVE your info on your Credit Card (Pre-Paid) and these cards always seemed to fail for me when it went to "Verify by Visa" page while trying to load money. No Success from those cards.

Appreciate all the feedback everyone! I'll have to take a look at it to see if it's restricted or not. If not, i'll have to go with a pre-paid I really don't want to deposit with my bank card though it is a Visa.

I agree, I definitely would not want to use my bank card, as debit cards do not protect you nearly as much as credit cards from fraud. There's always WU, too.

i used mine awhile ago with no problems but today it won't go through. :(

That's no good! I am going to end up going through Green Dot if I can't find any other pre-paids that will work.
