Several outlets reported troubles with EWallet Express in the last few days, but just in the past few hours, it has been reported by more than one source that it appears the US Govt has seized, frozen the assets of the Company.

No other details seem to be available at the moment. Best of luck to whoever has money with EWallet Express.

And, I liked them.

They kept giving me "bonus" money at least twice this year...guess I can kiss that money bye bye ... they just deposited $50 to my account last week. I only used it for Sportsbook funding and betting on the Phils vs Redskins on Monday night football ... I took Phils -3.5 for $50 . Thank you VICK. Unbelievable performance! Guess the IRS will be knocking soon.

Wally :)

When I read this thread I became concerned because eWallet Express is the vehicle I use for bodog.

I telephoned Bodog and immediately was transferred to a live person (they're really great that way).

He told me that eWallet is making sweeping changes to their system which are largely directed toward making their method work as quickly and efficiently as similar systems. Consequently, their website has been down but should be up in the next day or so.

He said Bodog had heard nothing about the US Govt seizing and/or freezing eWallet Express funds and was quite certain that was a rumor.

This is what they told me -

Larry: Can you tell me if my funds are frozen and does this have anything to do with the U.S. Government? Welcome Larry! Please hold while we contact a representative. If a representative does not respond in a few seconds, then he/she is not available at this time.Currently 6 chat request session(s) before you.
You are now speaking with Nadine of Customer Service.
Nadine: Hello and thank you for using eWalletXpress live chat service.
Nadine: The entire eWalletXpress service is down at this time. We do not know when it will be operational. We do not know the cause. We have not been updated and we have no additional information at this time. We realize this is an inconvenience however, no one has updated Customer Service so unfortunately there is nothing further we can assist with.
Larry: Who can I find this information from?
Nadine: You are welcome to call during business hours when a supervisor is available however, they will tell you the same thing.
Larry: Can you give me the phone number?
Nadine: 1-888-989-0071
Larry: Okay Thank you
Nadine: It was my pleasure to be of assistance to you today. Thank you for using our live chat service. This chat session is now ending. If you require further assistance please contact us again.

Apparently Bodog knows more than even EWallet Express itself. I hope this is true, but from what I am hearing they even sent a note to Merchants saying they were shutting down the service. The call above with Ewallets own Live Chat service is likely more of an indication.

I hope all funds can be recovered and/or this is all one big farce. But if it was I would think Ewallet Express would be the first out of the gate denying the rumors.

Being a U.S. Citizen it has been so difficult to find a reliable Deposit\Withdrawal method. If it isn't one thing it's another not to mention having to wait months for the funds to show or check in mail. Sometimes I wonder if it's even worth all the trouble.

After reading the chat log I had the same thought. :)

...but from what I am hearing they even sent a note to Merchants saying they were shutting down the service.

Clearly Bodog has not received such a notice. The guy I spoke with assured me several times that everything with eWallet was going to be fine and matter of fact better than ever. He said deposits and withdrawals were being streamlined to be faster and more efficient.

Guess we'll find out the real truth of the matter one of these days...

I only have 25 bucks there . logged in today and everything looks about the same except for this message on the front page.

Please note we are experiencing ongoing technical difficulties as a result of a service upgrade.

Please use our chat system (see below) or contact customer support via email at support@ewalletxpress.com.

guess I would be more concerned if I had more money there. I do agree that they have helped me a few times when I had no way to deposit at a site. hope they stick around....

hear something to look at

USA-Freedom-011409L_0.jpg

The website CasinoScamReport.com is claiming that yet another popular e-wallet is pulling out of the US online gambling market. This time, it is eWallet Express.
Last Friday when players from the US accessed their eWalletXpress accounts they were greeted to no banking options for deposits and a message saying they were having technical difficulties and would be back online soon. Well days have gone by and there is no movement, no answers to emails or phones giving any explanation of what to expect. The biggest question now on US gamblers mind is when these “technical difficulties” are fixed, who will be able to make deposits? The rest of the world, accept USA players, or “ALL” players? If EwalletXpress is leaving the US market is it because of fear from the federal government bring charges against them as they did with Neteller or is it because the US is getting ready to open up the borders of online gambling and all payment processors must be out of the US before this happens? So many rumors and no real answers.
What we do know is that a number of online gambling payment processors have been pinched in the past year, most notably Douglas Rennick and Daniel Tzvetkoff.
Rennick ran My ATM Online, KJB Financial Corp., Account Services Corp. and Check Payment Financial Co, most of which were processing for online poker’s biggest websites, including pokerstars and full tilt poker. Tzvetkoff wasnabbed in Las Vegas over the summer. He ran the online payment processor Intabill out of Australia.
Rennick was facing a few dozen years behind bars but walked away with having to pay a steep fine and 6 months probation. Tzvetkoff is also facing a few dozen years behind bars but is currently out on bail and assisting US law enforcement authorities.
The US Justice Department claims that such processors are engaged in money laundering activities.

i dont think this is true. there would be something on a REAL news site or even a channel. a multimillion dollar company wont just be seized secretly without the news knowing.

everyone whos reporting about this has the same story, no sources, just hear say.

the rumor was probly started by a rival company trying to pick up some new customers

all the sites reporting cant even be considered a reliable source. just a bunch of gambling sites

this company provides a service for the world. if americans sign up its not their fault. im sure theres more then just one use then poker that ewallet offers. if americans want to use it for gambling its not their fault. they provide a service and they cant stop people from depositing money and spending it on what they wish.

they are 0% responsible and have done nothing wrong.

I saw a tweet from Pokernewsdaily earlier today basically re-reporting what SportsbookGurus.com stated earlier. Personally it wouldn't surprise me if the US government was going after them.

I only have a few dollars in there right now as I haven't had to add to my account at Bodog.

Here's the article that I read for anyone interested:

I really feel saddened and angered for our American members. It`s astonishing that the government in what is allegedly a democracy can trample on citizens` pastimes this way. Seems to me that, apart from the fact that the electricity generally works, you might as well be living in North Korea. :(

So I called Bodog again. The gal I talked to swore that they had not had any sort of communication from eWallet. She was extremely evasive when I pushed deeper.

I asked her about alternative methods for withdrawal and she said check by courier.

I asked her for deposit alternatives and she suggested something called mypaylinq as well as digitalpin. I told her I had never heard of those and thus was wary of using either. She said "They work just like eWallet" and I said "That's not exactly a great way to insure the reliability of these services."

Like bryan24, I don't have much money at eWallet, something like $40, but to me it's the principle of the whole thing. What's going to happen to those funds? Will our names be attached to the accounts? So many questions...

And back to Bodog. I like the place but now feel like I'm in sort of in limbo. I don't know whether to keep what funds I have there and continue playing, or cash out now and just be done with them.

Thoughts, anyone?
