I'm living in the USA and I really want to play some online poker. I looked into the available sites and picked BetOnline to try first. They make it seem so easy, but I am wary and uncertain when it comes to depositing. BetOnline seems like a decent enough option, but I cannot decide which way to deposit, so some advice/help would be appreciated.

I do not have a credit card available so that's a no go, but both Western Union and a wire transfer seem like options.

However, I do not understand how Western Union works and/or if its a smart option considering the extra fee you have to pay. If someone could instruct me on how to use Western Union to deposit, I would appreciate it. After about an hour of various research I still can't figure out what steps I would need to take using this option.

The wire transfer sends me to customer service on BetOnline's website, so I'm assuming they have to approve it with the bank or something of the sort? If my bank will do the transfer, I'd like that option the best but I am quite confused by the setup at BetOnline.

Any help, advice, warnings etc would be appreciated and I feel like I cannot be the only person with this problem.

I highly recommend staying away from BetOnline. I've heard/ experienced a lot of struggles trying to withdraw from that site. Look into Lock Poker or Hero Poker.....since you are from the US.

I agree, the site has had alot of complaints on this forum and 2+2...stick to the Merge network (Carbon, Blackchip).

I've used Betonline for over a year. I recommend using moneygram to deposit... there fees are lower than Western Union. Other tips:

Don't enroll in their Bonus program, you'll have to rollover your deposit before you can withdrawal.

Be ready to scan in photo copies of your id, utility, and credit card (if u ever do decide to use that to deposit)

Their withdrawal fees are steep. While I am a BO customer now, in retrospect I would have went to Carbon now that they also do WU deposits/withdrawals where I live.

Read my thread on my successful Betonline Payout on this site.

Hope it helps,
Izmatic

BetOnline is your worst option.

Try Carbon, Black Chip, or Hero on the Merge Network.

visa Debit has worked for me on these.

You can buy prepaid credit cards at most supermarkets, right above the candy at the check out counter. Talk to the support folks at whatever site you choose to make sure you get the right one. If you do use these, and then have good fortune and want to withdraw, you will get paid by check. All of the sites serving the U.S. these days are problematic when it comes to delivering checks however. Goes to the UIGEA and the Black Friday clampdown.
