You won't be able to get cheap fees with BTC. The fee is equivalent to $10 USD these days.

Well the reason is a lot of banks do not accept transfers from gambling sites here in america. (other countries have different regulations) so if you deposit on a gaming site or try to withdraw from on directly to your bank your account might get frozen. This is why bit coins are becoming popular, since it is digital currency that can not be tracked. Scary yes, but at the same time it allow you to make anonymous purchases if you so desire.

You are very late to the party. Lock failed completely and has been gone for like 2 years. I am not even sure how you attempted to cash out after the site was gone.

If you're looking for an exchange, Coinbase is pretty good. If you're in the US, you can transfer your funds directly into your bank account. It takes a couple days, though. It's completely legit. I've purchased, exchanged and sold a lot of things through the site and they haven't failed me...yet. I think other transfer methods cost a percentage, but that's pretty much the standard everywhere.

Edit: I should clarify that there's no fee for deposits, but about 1.5% for conversion and 1.5% for payout into your account.

Bitcoin poker is legit but scammy

I used to play on Seals With Clubs and then on Betocoin. On both sites, I had success winning big, but for the most part, it seemed as though it was more challenging to play on those sites because there is really no security to ensure players aren't playing on two different accounts at the same table as you. The rakeback system on betcoin is very generous, depositing is easy and efficient as is withdrawing your money. On more than one occasion, some very insane calls were made that were inhuman. The cash games are like lighting money on fire, but the tournaments can be very legit and rewarding to play, as they are connected to a much larger external network of poker sites.
