I just signed up for PDC Poker as wwell as Sportsbook Poker and neither site will let me use my visa. It says I have to sign up for a Click2Pay account, but when I go to their website it says they are not registering new customers. What do I do..?

As a US-based player, getting money onto/off-of a site is probably the single biggest hurdle to playing online poker right now. I haven't deposited in ages (sick brag:p ), but the last time I did Visa worked just fine. Since then I understand that that can be "iffy" now, at best. I've seen other threads when people have successfully used Western Union and/or the pre-paid Visa cards like you'd buy at a store to use to get money onto a site. There may be other options as well that I am not aware of.

Again, I have no personal experience of using either of these methods so hopefully someone with some more recent depositing success will chime-in here and let us know what is currently working and what is not.

Thanks! My Visa still does not work so I'll try Western Union. I've discovered all of these freerolls so in the mean time I'll try those out. I hear they are nothing but DonkFests tho! lol

Could be wrong, but I don't believe paypal is an option for US players. @OP, just be aware that WU charges a fee for their service. I'd be sure to check with the site to make sure they accept WU deposits before going that route. Kind-of surprised that someone with more recent depositing experience hasn't offered some advice.

Paypal is definitely not an option. My visa worked last time I tried it - but don't remember when that was. It could be your specific Visa company.

Thanks Rudy I have looked into all my options..WU does charge a fee and paypal is NOT an option. However, I have won money from the fun steps and freerolls so I'm going to grind with that! thanks for the feedback :)

In general the public freerolls are not the donkfests they used to be. Back when it was easy to deposit and withdraw, for US players, they were truly insane, but with the difficulty we now see, most of the players are taking them much more seriously.

Not to say they are superior (lol), they just are not as fishy as they used to be.

Definitely this. Different issuers will have different results. It's getting harder and harder to deposit as a US player, but for credit cards it's been a problem for years. You have to either be fortunate enough to have an issuer that works, or to find a prepaid card issuer that works (and those are pretty rare these days from what I hear). I was fortunate to have a VISA that worked the last time I attempted a deposit with it, but that was at least a year ago if not more. Things are much tougher these days so don't know if it would still work or not.

Merge has had issues with credit card deposits lately and are reported to be working on getting it back. As others have mentioned, if you have one of the working issuers it should still work on Lock.

Most sites are moving to WU for deposits and withdrawals. WU withdrawals on Lock are taking 1.5 - 2 weeks right now, I just picked up $1500 this week.

Yeah thanks..Black Chip emailed me back and said they are working on getting their Visa deposit option back. I'm not too worried about it anymore because I'm working up a bankroll off of freerolls and fun steps its working out pretty well for me. Hopefully I'll never have to deposit! lol :D

I would strongly advise against using Click2Pay. I have heard of people doing the same thing, then when they go to make a withdrawal they are informed that because they used Click2Pay to deposit, the withdrawal minimum amount is like $2200 dollars.

intertops poker accepts Visa btw, well it did when I tried.

Yeah I've heard about the withdraw limits but It doesn't matter because Click2Pay is not accepting new members anyways. I found out my Visa was not set up for International purchases so thats why it was declined. My problem now is I play at Black Chip and I really like the software and skin but they don't have a Visa deposit option..So in the meantime I'm playing freerolls and fun steps. Thanks for the input :)

Lock accepted my VISA and I had the money in my account instantly.
Withdrawing your money from Lock is a different story altogether. Horrible experience with customer service that was nonexistent for the first week or so.

Probably for the best.

If you're going to play on Revolution network, I would advise you play on Intertops over Lock as their withdrawal minimums are much lower and they have their own cashier. (Intertops is like my 3rd or 4th fav poker site tho, so I'm not trying to heavily endorse it or anything)

AllAccess Visa Prepaid cards... they are international and work 100% of the time on Merge and Revolution network sites.

WU withdrawals from Lock are happening inside of 2 weeks now, that's definitely the preferred option for US withdrawal. I just did picked up a WU cashout this past Monday. WU fee is 10% but you get your first one each month reimbursed.

Lock checks are being drawn on Canadian banks and take 4-6 weeks to get, then on top of that many US banks will put an international hold on the check for up to 4-6 more weeks. So checks are really not recommended if you want your money in a hurry.

If you're going to play on Revolution network, I would advise you play on Intertops over Lock as their withdrawal minimums are much lower and they have their own cashier. (Intertops is like my 3rd or 4th fav poker site tho, so I'm not trying to heavily endorse it or anything)
All Merge sites use the same Merge network poker cashier. A lot of people don't seem to realize this and blame Carbon or BCP or whatever skin for payout issues, when it's not the skin's fault. All the skin can do to help is try to escalate the issue with Merge, but otherwise it's out of their hands.

On the Cake (now Revolution) network however each skin runs their own cashier, and some were better than others. The Cake skin cashier was pretty terrible by all recent accounts I've heard, Lock's is much better and some of the other Revolution skin players have been begging for Lock to move their cashier over.

AFAIK Lock withdrawal minimums are hardly an issue -- somebody just mentioned withdrawing $75 via WU the other day, and most withdrawals seem to be in the couple hundred range judging from Lock support threads at 2p2. Considering the US situation and the high costs, risks, and hassle of payment processing here, there has to be some minimum IMO. $75 is probably too low, I expect it probably costs them that much overall to process a payout.

As to customer service, aside from pokerstars pretty much all US facing sites/networks suck at email support. Lock has gotten better since they've beefed up their support staff just recently, but were so far behind they're still not terribly useful. Merge sites have *never* been very good at email support.

For Lock, Carbon, and BCP support you're better off posting in their support threads at forums like 2+2 or DragTheBar, where they have reps who are much better about responding to CS issues. Nathan from BCP, Chris & Ryan from Carbon, and Shane from Lock are on the forums pretty much every day and do a pretty good job considering how much they get slammed over there.

I have to disagree. I read that a few times and had an issue that I needed taken care of by CS on lock. So that was the first thing I did was send shane a PM. Then sent an email to lock cs thinking that shane would get to it first. Granted it was early in the morning like 4 or something. So by no means am I saying that shane would not have taken care of it if he had seen it. But before I knew it I had a response from lock CS and the problem was taken care of. I had to PM shane back to say thank you but NM it was fixed.

I posted about it in the poker rooms forum. And some one replied that they to had received the same fast reply from lock CS.
