So Basically, I've made many many deposits on Bovada, Carbon, and BCP. THEN, one day, my bank decides to Red Flag all of my transactions. That leads to all poker sites declining my deposits. So I call my bank to have them lift the red flag off my account. At which time, they tell me "NO CAN DO"... Online gambling is not aloud and there system is blocking any and ALL transactions that come from a "Company Name" that does not match with there credentials. Meaning if Bovada process a transaction on the name "Beamite" the 2 names do not match and the transaction gets declined. SO, I was told by my bank that 1. Use sites like paypal etc etc (we all know that PayPal is NEVER a choice) and 2. I will have problems now with even stores such as Hotels billing under a different name instead of "Hotel 6" aka "Blah Blah Enterprises" and even Taco Bell aka "Something Cater Foods" ... This is Horse Sh*t for one. 2 Idk what to do now???!!! I don't want to use Western Union because its not fast enough and its also a pain in the a$$. So I looked into NetSpend and Walmarts Prepaid Visas. BOTH companys said No to gambling...

In a Nutshell:
What is everyone else doing?!?!

It seems as though you don't know the law here in the states. It is illegal for banks to process transactions to poker sites and most gambling sites. Once they find out that the transactions relates to gambling, they shut it down to cover their own asses. You would have to go with a new bank if you want to continue using a bank account for poker. Best suggestion would be Western Union. None of the e-wallets will work for American players.

Just to reiterate, Black Friday and what happened with the UIGEA causing Black Friday did not make it illegal for Americans to play. All that did is make it illegal for banks to process transactions with the gambling sites for American players. Nobody should ever let their bank know that their transactions relate to gambling. Make up a story about why you're getting foreign checks or, the sites suggest calling it a "transfer" and leaving it at that.

How come they red flagged and blocked it just randomly like that? I mean I was doing fine for awhile.

What you do with your money is YOUR business. A bank should not be red flagging transactions like that. I would ditch the bank and go with a different bank. there are so many out there to choose from you should have no problem finding a replacement. If that doesn't work, I believe there are other ways of funding yoru account: neteller, bitcoin, and etc...

They don't catch everything the first time through. However, in time they will figure it out. The sites try to disguise it, but occasionally they fail to do so. Talking as someone who worked on the bank side, let me assure you that they never wanted to let you make this transaction.

Also, what you do with your money through THEIR establishment, is their business. Especially since you're making them do something illegal by asking them to allow you to deposit on a poker site.

I use Netspend with no problems. It was actually preferred by Carbon. Wal Mart won't work.

What I use to do, before Black Friday, when making a few bucks at the tables, was to transfer money into someone's account, and have them pay me back in PayPal.

Now, I have small BRs in two sites, so, not worth doing that now..

Good luck,

mike

Banks have really started cracking down on people who have been sending money to offshore gambling sites, especially since Black Friday. I'm curious to know if it's a big bank chain that your through, or if it's a smaller, more local bank. I've used three big chain banks for all of my poker transactions, but fortunately, I've never had a problem with any of them...

I'm sure now that I said something, they'll catch on though haha :D

Have you tried signing up for Western Union Online? I used to be able to send transactions directly from my computer years ago as well. Not sure if that's still an option with them, but might be worth looking into. At least you might not have to drive somewhere to make a deposit...

I have been lucky

My bank has taken my deposits to play in Carbon Poker. I am not sure why, but I love it. It has been fun to play on line again. I can not wait untill we can play again on Full tilt again. What great times I had playing full tilt. I also enjoyed being able to transfer money to my friends.

That's actually the biggest gripe that I have with online poker these days for US players. I used to stake a BUNCH of my friends in events on PS, FT, etc. Now, I'm really limited to doing stuff like that on all of the Winning Poker Skins. There are a few more, but living in Virginia, some of them are restricted for me (laaame....).

I miss PS / FT. :(

I had a similar problem with Bank of America. They called me for suspicious deposits. I told them it was for Facebook games and all was okay..

But yeah, you should never admit to gambling online.
