Not since the change, but never had a problem with bodog payouts.

I don't like the new anonymous software. I understand the reasons behind it, but no opponent names = it really lacks character. It's really difficult to know whether play 2 is still player 2, or did that person leave and another sit down. If they want anonymity, how about taking on a name during each session? For your own protection against data mining, you'd want to change it each time. But if you got a good read on MessYouUp, then he leaves, at least you'd know it's not the same opponent.
I don't like all the tracking software. But the Bodog change is an over-reaction.

I've made one deposit on 'Bodog' & one withdrawl ('after' the change to Bovada, taking out nearly entire bankroll) which went quickly & smoothly.

Yeah, US players can play cards...on quite a few sites. And that's not why the Bovada software is "player anonymous". I have this little secret...US players aren't the only ones who play poker...there's like a whole other WORLD out there! Crazy, right??

So just what is the reason that Bovada is player anonymous? Gets confusing if multi-tabling, easy to forget player number on each table. Thanks in advance for all replies :)

my biggest problem is not being able to seat myself at the bottom on the screen. I f I am multitabling, it is easier if my eyes are always on the same spot on the screen,. The old bodog always put us at the bottom, please, Bovada Service, pass this request to the software engineers.

Hi Everyone,

Bovada is a part of the Bodog Network so please allow me to respond on behalf of Bodog Network (I do not have anything to do with Bovada, only Bodog branded companies).

The reason why Bodog Network decided to introduce anonymous tables across all tables is because it protects recreational players by creating a more legitimate playing field. Here's a few words from the Bodog Network VP on anonymous tables:

"We have decided to introduce Anonymous Tables across all tables, both cash game and tournament tables. This is perfectly in line with Bodog Recreational Poker Model, our strategy of focusing on net depositing players. The anonymity will protect them by creating a more level playing field. This will mean that net depositing players get more entertainment for their money which will increase player retention. Player tracker tools and HUD’s are net depositing players’ biggest enemy, and we are now effectively stopping these from ever working on our software again. We will lose some users of these tools but that is only going to create a better environment for the net depositing players who are actually the ones generating the revenue through their deposits. In the poker forums (winning) players are furious which I can understand—like most predators they are not the best suited to look after an eco-system".

Complete article here.

Hope this helps!

Winning players are predators? that is soooo funny. but I have a serious question here. The two sites are a network? right? So are Bovada tournaments and ring games shared by Bodog players? when a forum offers a game on Bovada, are the Bodog players in the same tournament?

And since this thread has the attention of both forum reps, let me offer an observation on software, I was playing in a ring stud game yesterday. When on an 8 seat table, the cards of the player in the upper left corner are obscured by the white writing saying "current" and "Previous". Can this be remedied please? So far I have not been seated in that spot, that would be a BIG problem, not seeing my own cards, lol.

And while we are talking about software remedies, again i beg that the players be allowed to change spots or always be seated at the bottom of the screen like in the old software.

Terrible analogy. As published in the Nature journal:

..... ecosystems crumble without the presence of top predators be keeping populations of key species from growing too large. It also provides a cautionary lesson to humans, who often remove top predators from the food chain, setting off an eventual collapse.

So I guess the hope is that the fish population at Bo will grow unrestricted and while keeping your fingers crossed that your "eco-system" doesn't collapse.

Don't really mind not having tracking software, but the killer for me is the inability to take my own notes. That is unimaginable overkill.

PO's point on collusion in the other thread is right on. The poker community has been more than instrumental in being the watchdog on collusion.

I received a payout from bodog. Haven't tried to cash on bovada but I assume it will be the same. My payout came within 3 weeks.

Bovada operates on the bodog poker network, so they do share the same player pool for tournaments and cash games. Each Poker room on the Bodog Network may also offer special tournaments or promotions for their own players.

Thanks for notifying us of the seat issue you identified; we've confirmed that is a bug and our development team is working on a fix for it. In the meantime, if you find yourself seated in this position, you can re-size the table in order to properly view the cards.

We appreciate your feedback on the seating layout of the software, and we'll get it to the right people. If you have any other feedback, don't hesitate to give Bovada Customer Service a call at 1-888-263-0000 or an email at service@bovada.lv.

I will admit I am not a fan of the new system, but I never heard that payments were a problem.

Guess they still are not...

I like how this statement as it relates to Bodog/Bovada philosophy keeps getting passed over.

I don't like the new anonymity very much just because it's so sterile and non-descript.

But I don't think the premise is very logical. Bovada wants to increase their revenue by protecting the recreational player, since they are the one that infuse cash into the site with their rebuys. I don't see how this accomplishes that.

What causes a player to rebuy? Busting out. And often busting out to the so-called "predators." Remove the skill differential and put everybody on the same level, and I suspect you just have the same $20 floating around from player to player. There will be FEWER rebuys, not more.

You'd be right except you're not accounting for RAKE.

If BadPlayer (BP) 1 and BP2 both deposit $100 and they get to pass it back and forth between them for a long time, Blovada makes more rake. In the extreme they could pass it back and forth long enough for Blovada to take practically all $200 of it in rake before BOTH of them have to redeposit.

Under the old system GoodPlayer (GP) 1 and GP2 might quickly take both BP1 and BP2's deposits and withdrawal it before Blovada had the chance to take but a small fraction of it in rake. Blovada wants that money to stay on site as long as possible so they can take more $$s from each deposit.

The problem is of course that in order for them to get rid of the sharks they had to make the software so horrible that NO ONE (other than bots/colluders) can stand to play there.

I've never had problems with Bodog payouts... always about 1-3 weeks. I had my last Bodog pending when Bovada took over and Bovada kept up with it. Had a message on the website when I logined. Took 2-3 weeks on check drafted from canada. I think my bank may of finally cleared the check.. takes a long time.

Bovada payouts seem similar to bodog. just received $300 in 3 weeks time. That is about their usual. have been happy here. much better than cake where you never see a payout.

Request a payout on late at night on Feb 2. Received an autoreply quickly and than a confirmation that my payout was approved on Feb 3. Also in that last note it mentioned it could take a few weeks for payout to get processed.

Bovada Support Rep... I didn't receive email confirmation that my payout was approved. When I had a payout in late December, I also did not receive an email when payout was mailed out. I did see notifications in my Bovoda 'messages' on your website.

Please make sure all of these notifications are emails to the player in addition to being placed in the 'messages'. Bodog always send email notifications during the whole payout process.
