to deposit money for them into their sportsbook? like, as a US resident, maybe using paypal to send a payment to someone in another country who can then easily deposit into the account?

I never have gone this route but there are some folks here at CC that I would trust. Hang around for a while and participate in the forums and the games that you can and you'll develope a relationship with the folks here. I have met the nicest people here than in any forum of any type, but they are not suckers so you need to hang aournd and get to know people.

GOODLUCK AND WELCOME TO THE GREATEST FORUM ON THE NET!

There are some sites that allow you to offer/receive transfers like this, but I don't believe cardschat is one of them. You send them money - they transfer funds into your poker account. No deposit bonus though.

Negotiating that sort of deal in the forum is against the cc rules.
Having said that, yes there are people I have never met I have trusted with hundreds of dollars, with transfers and such.
I have done this I would say dozens of times-have been burned twice. Now I only do it with people I see regularly and know fairly well. With the USA problem, a friend in UK or canada can be very helpful.
I once did 3 trades in a forum tournament in 15 minutes. Gave them full tilt money. I would feel bad, but we were sitting at absolute, so everybody loses, lol

Pretty dumb move on anyones part that is not your best friend or relative. Paypal is the number one scam by far for people using it to fraudulently get funds on sites or transfer fraud

Just too easy to reverse the trade up to 1 or 2 months down the road. And if they know it is gambling related done in a second. And nothing the guy who gets the paypal trade reversed can do. Zip. Money gone.

No one should ever accept paypal for any type of poker trade.

There are many other safer ways to get money to online poker (Depositing and Withdrawing) by trading using GreenDot/NetSpend Cards, Gift Cards, and site to site transfer

I really appreciate all the input. I just received a visa 'PayPower' card but now need to buy something else called a 'ReLoadit Pack' to be able to add funds to it. Luckily there's a Hess gas station 3.5 miles from me that sells them. I've already used Western Union to deposit and it went through without a hitch at intertops. If I need to deposit again, I think I'll stick to W.U.
