I deposit using my main current account but is there an advantage to using another payment method. I have seen some ewallet type things advertised but I do not know if their is any advantage. I native currency is in £ so there is a lot of conversions and not sure how to minimise that and if there are other advantages to not using a bank card.

Trying to understand the advantages though. Not sure if transferring to an e currency and then into $ then back into ecurrency then into £ would make it harder to follow the conversion charges.

Most of the time I'd say not, unless you are depositing really high amounts the fees would be negligible. Either way most wallets require you to top up the account with a bank card most of the time and other methods are usually slow.

I would suggest you paypal than its quick and easy and withdraw times are quicker.
But to use PayPal you must connect it with your bank card still but it's simple and easy to use and if you wanna get money out of PayPal to your bank never takes more than few hours sometimes they stop withdrawn for 72 h but that's happening rare and it's they're security.

I think that it,s better to use another payment methods, but anyway the situation is different, thats all depends where you are living. In some countries better to use card, but for me looks like it,s easier to use e-wallets, because you will receive your cashouts faster.

It all depends on the situation in your particular country. Usually if you have visa or mastercard they have best conversion rates and lowest taxes (at least with my bank in my country this is the case). Some people prefer to not give directly credit card details and use paypal or other ewallet despite of the higher charges. It depends on the trust that you have for the current room where you play. For big sites like stars or other which are legal here in Bulgaria i would not hesitate to directly use my card because they are regulated and i have some kind of protection. For other rooms i would prefer to use another payment method.

Why some have to use ewallets instead of bank card:
Some banks do not allow deposits to poker sites and casinos.

Also some cards cannot be withdrawn to and most have a min limit of $100 US. With an ewallet min withdrawal is $10-$25 depending on room.

Some may even use ewallet to avoid taxes.

Some sites give an extra bonus if you use Bitcoin. You should definitely look into it.

This is correct I forgot about it.

I got free entry into a 10K tourney at start of the month just for having one Bitcoin deposit last month.

Which site was that on then? The thing I find though a lot of freerolls are super turbos and difficult to get close to the end.

Fortunately I do not have to pay on gambling. I am thinking using a different payment method may help not have poker affect your credit scores.

The bitcoin freeroll was on the Chico network so you could have played it from BOP SB or TigerGaming. It was excellent 10k prize and only 250 participants. I hope they do it again soon.

You are right the majority of freerolls out there are turbo and min cash are normally a few cents and the fields are large and have plenty bingo players. That's why Cardschat ones are the best it is different from the rest.

There are a few that are different as well. party poker has a couple and Party Poker you need to have your account verified before you can play a freeroll it really keeps the fields down.

I recommend using bitcoins if possible. Gambling such as poker is poorly received when it comes to your credit score.

I don't know where you are in the world, but in canada, it can block you from many things.

I used my personal credit card only once to make a deposit on PS. When I asked to raise my credit on my card, after 2 years without any paiment missed, I was refused due to that single transaction of about 75$. I also tranfert money I won from the site to my bank account and my bank bloked me for 2 years for any type of request.

So I strongly suggest you to use an Ewallet like Paypal or I use Mastercard gift cards on pokerstars (probably the only site accepting them).

Hope it helps!

Some sites I've seen give out a bonus for depositing with crypto, might be worth looking into

No surprise there that if you're going to bank to get/ask something for your behalf then they're most likely going to check you recent(12+ months) credit history or so and therefore sadly they can easily say NO to you should they find even one deposit to any gambling site
