Hey folks, I have been searching for a thread that talks about cryptocurrency investing, news, and mining, but I haven't found one.

Hopefully this will be a good thread for crypto enthuisist to share their knowledge about anything cryptocurrency related. All is welcomed! Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Bitcoin Cash (BCH), Ripple (XRP), Litecoin (LTC), Dash (DASH), Monero (XMR), and any others that you can think of.

Good idea - ready to learn!

Hi,

I am a newbie to crypto but since today I am a bit scared. The whole china thing is making me crazy, even when I´ve read that they did the same with bitcoin years earlier.

But, well I cannot say much about it. I am making first steps with Ethereum, Neo, OMG and WTC.

best

Welcome and thanks for the reply. I'm not that knowledgeable so hopefully we can learn together as a community here. Yeah, I know the China deal is a bit scary, but if you are long BTC (which I am). This might be a good dip to buy. If you are a day trader, then hold on.

I don't mine, but I will watch the doc. I have heard that it isn't profitable to mine unless you invest in tons of machines. Is that still true?

The more I get down the wormhole it seems that it isn't profitable to mine anymore. Another night of research, here we go lol

This plays right into the hands of the TPTB, they want you to invest in this Ponzi scheme so when they disrupt the Internet with their red button and unleash their Magnetic Bomb chaos will ensue. Keep buying those electric cars, too, LOL!

What the hell is going to happen when their is no electricity? Technology only works if you can charge it or plug in, what then? Huh smart people?

Good luck with the research. I hope I'm wrong about the profitability in mining btw

Interesting perspective. Guess there would be no online poker with electricity. Good thing I play live :)

I'll give it a try. What cryptos do you trade? What news sites do you read to know what to trade?

My bot analyse prices trends by poloniex public API, coincap API and I make order based on my strategy, also i planing to add other crypto exchanges. It is semi-automatic trading based on technical analysis.

Sounds like some pretty sophisticated trading. Did you build your own bot? Do you leave your currency on poloniex or do you move it to a wallet? Which wallets would you recommend for different alt coins?

Yes, the bot is written in Python. Locally, I only store bitocoins on Bitcoin Core wallet, alt coins store only on Poloniex.

I don't know what you guys are talking about. I'm putting my money into hashflare. You buy a .01 TH at a $1.50 each to mine bitcoins. I started out with .07 THs, and just ignored it for about 4 months until I had about $11 worth, then I purchased more Ths with my balance. Right now I've got .36 THs and earned .00009036 yesterday which is worth about 39 cents. I would call it more of a hobby than an investment right now. :)

So...bubble yet or not? Just opened an account at Coinbase to dabble in this, and thinking ETH or LTC might be best to start. Kicking myself because ETH has gone up by $100 since I started thinking about it a week ago.

I have a young cousin who has made an increasing fortune by mining bitcoin starting in 2013 I believe. He was on the local news about it and had a special server at his home. Did he share the info with his cousins, hell no, and I didn't see the news report then.

Planning to only invest what I can afford to lose, at least that's what I'm telling myself.

Hey, welcome to thread!!!! Below is my comment from another BTC thread about the BTC bubble. That is cool to hear about your cousin, and a good plan to only invest what you can lose. Kind of like poker. Hopefully your cousin is sending BTC as a Christmas present :)

Yes, from an economic BTC is on it's way to bubble status, but unlike the "Tulip Bulbs", BTC will still have value. From a utility standpoint, BTC might not be work $XXK, but it worth more than $0. If you use it as an investment then there is risk. If you buy it when you need to use it to pay for a service, play online poker, or buy items in another country, then there is a great deal of value.

Think about the freedom of not having to go to a bank and exchange money at high fees to play poker in another country. Exchange BTC for the local currency and pay almost null in fees.
