I had the message yesterday (June 23) but I haven't seen it today (24).Yes currently they are charging a conversion fee due to fluctuating currency exchange.
Yeah that would be annoying. I just hope they don't turn this 4% into a permanent feature.I doubt they are going to give you the message every day, that would annoy the piss out of anyone don't you think?
That is stealing...what, they can't change it like banks and exchange offices?? They have seen a chance to steal more money!! Because off their no fee exchange i opened skrill account in €...Yes currently they are charging a conversion fee due to fluctuating currency exchange.
I'm pretty sure you can't have multiple skrill accounts, but I'm not sure since they don't like Canadians anymore.
They can do what they want, but change of rules isn't fair...for me it is no different do i have skrill in $ or €, i am paying skrill 2.4% when i use their card, because off their no fee policy i chose to have it in €...now when i payed for my card i should give them 4% too...whatever, my account is empty and i am not playing or depositing till they remove this...iff they don't do it soon, i will make new skrill account..You don't think banks and exchange offices charge fees? Of course they do, a posted rate could be .8 and getting the currency at the bank would get you only .75 just as an example.
Hopefully its only temporary but who knows, and I'd imagine they can't do instant exchange on there side which is why the fee considering there would still be exchanges going on in their site even when the market is closed and they could suffer a big hit if the market opens down the next day from when it closed the previous.
That is my thoughts on it anyhow, not that I'm happy about any fees or anything and unlike most sites at least you can deposit in your own currency and not get dinged huge fees that way and previously no fee to exchange that currency to US funds which you'd play in. On 888 for example I lose over 10% between deposit and withdrawal if not more, if I deposit say 600 US and then withdraw 600 US I wind up losing about 100CAD because of the "fee" they have on currency exchange but its not indicated as a fee its simply that doing a deposit I probably get .75 and then on a withdraw I only get .7 (obv I don't recall exact details but looked at it a couple of times, and that's why I don't even contemplate depositing on there these days)
It is not valid any more, it is back to normal....They are charging us now that we have left the EU. Blame the English. LoL In all seriousness i think it's unbelievable but what can we do? Not a lot!
Luckaly they was charging just for few days, because i have credit card on with my account...Just change MB acc. I did the same for same reason. You'll need to make new mail address tho.
