I’m new to this site. I see some really great feedback from obviously very educated players. I’ve been playing poker for a while. Playing badly that is. Finally decided to actually study the game this year and it’s been helping me. I’ve played 150 tournaments this month and there is one hand of one tournament that I’d really love to hear other people’s insight to.

9handed MTT
Effective stack 4770
Blinds 150/300 (40)ante
I’m in BB with Qs9h

Hijack min raises to 600
Action folds around I flat 300 more

Flop (pot =1710 chips) 2sQh2h
I check villain cbets 600 I call

Turn (pot = 2910 chips) Jh
I check Villain checks

River (2910) 5c
I bet 1125 , villain shoves AllIn 3999
I call all in my last 2445

Villain shows QdAc.

His vpip was 43 and PFR was 14
Just curious if anyone else might play the hand the same way? Is folding q9 off in the BB to one late position raiser who min raises the right move and avoid this hand or too tight of a fold? Otherwise should I fold the shove on the river?

Hi LearningStrategy,

From my personal Point of view - yes, I would have folded the shove on the river.
Alternatively, you might have bluff-raised on the turn, pretending a flush. In this case, the check from the Opponent on the turn represents him being afraid of the turn Card - but again, just IMHO
