Hi community! I was playing yesterday and my cards was :js4: :jd4: and I was utg1 ,blinds were 100/200 but it was a freerool with lots of maniac players and I decided to open raise to 600chips but the utg2 went all in of 2.870 chips and the dealer gave a call from utg 2 and I thought I was losing so I decided to fold this hand.
Utg2 had :as4: :ac4: and won the hand.

3x early, limp late for over trap. Can't just open fold em there the 4th best hand pre. But they are at a pinch point meaning if things get heated they are crushed or just flipping.

Ideal when playing against a short stack.
Hard to get a feel where you are against a caller in position, a 4 bet or a flop with over-cards.

Jacks are a great way to lose a pot without caution.

JJ play

I like to get a nice raise in pre flop specially if your in position and everyone limps in. If there is a raise before me I usually just call. Unless it allot of my chips I will see a flop. Honestly my kings get busted by Jack's way to many times. So play them. Let's play poker.:bike:

These freerolls are nuts. I am probably open-shoving JJ there and losing.

JJ get in the preflop raise first..

With JJ it is good to put in a modest raise pre-flop, get a feel for the bets after you. If some shove, folding isn't a disaster, you are only out your modest bet. But if you "feel it", with JJ, a counter shove isn't out of line. It's your game, your "feel."
Lot of different ways to approach JJ, same with any higher value pocket pair.

I believe the goal in an MTT freeroll is to make the top 4-5 seats on the final table to make a decent cash. BUT you first need to survive, and, that's what you did here. I think you played the had correctly from utg1. You could even have bet less and achieved the same result. It made no sense to call a shove from utg2 and a call from the button....JJ would be dominated most of the time.

I play JJ very carefully at an early stage of the tournament and even at some points I discard such cards, and when the game takes place at a late stage and in the tournament big bets, I play aggressively or play all-in!

Most times in a free roll I will shove all in with them and the overall results have been more positive then negative. Lots of folds. Sometimes you get called with an Ace with a 10 or lower kicker. Sometimes people call with the 7 2 unsuited, but when you run up against a pre flop pair than you are either a 4 to 1 dog or a 4 to 1 favorite. Most of the time you beat the weaker pairs sometimes they beat you. sometimes you beat the bigger pair must mostly you get beat by them. That's the beauty of shoving all in because at that juncture of your game you have no control until everybody folds and if not, than you watch the hand play out. Either way a result. They are really great against the non stop raiser on a table.

if JJ drops out it all depends on the situation and the bank

As attractive as they are, JJ's starting hands will regularly confront you with serious problems. Whether preflop or post-flop, you often find it hard to know where they are exactly in relation to your opponent's hands, which makes them particularly difficult to play.

I would make a raise preflop and propably shove if it's 1v1, but if there are a lot of people going all-in then you need to think about a fold

I have been working on focusing on how to play a range of hands in a situation rather than a specific hands. This had really helped make decisions like how to play JJ easier it just where it falls into the range.

I always had problems with JJ, low potential hand, everything depends on the position and stark, but do not venture too much with this hand

JJ is one of the most difficult hands to play, it is not such a bad hand to throw them on a raise, but it is not so powerful as to call an all-in.

I think it's best to try to get the pre-flop cards with JJ

Hello it depends on the position and the amount of chips you also have the stage of the tournament you have to be careful with JJ is not strong enough to put everything in the pot

I don't know why people hate pocket jacks so much, I'll take em! I just played a tourney for almost 2 hours where I didn't have anything better than pocket 9's. Give me the Jacks!

Out of respect your decision more with JJ does not have to give up no, you were very weak in this even more if it is a freeroll tournament

JJ from the position you were in, it's a good hand to play .. even more against maniacs, I would call and go to the ground .. the fact that you are the result of a hand that you fold, and did not play does not mean that if you had paid yourself, the cards would be the same .. The character changes when you play .. At pokerstars, moving the mouse, everything changes the faces of the next faces.

JJ is my least favorite PP. No matter what I do with it, it always seems to be the wrong move lol
