pokerstars, late in a toournament,

Blinds: 400/800
Ante: 50
9 players

I'm in Seat 4, with 18,973 chips, and received A K suited, diamonds.

Player before me bets 800, I raise 2,700 more for a total of 3,500.
The player just behind me raises another 2,700 for a total of 6,200
He has 49,363 chips and got me covered.

Everyone folds to me, I call. Flop is 4 Q 5, with 2 diamonds. I check, he bets 17,600 and I raise him all-in. He calls. No diamond, no ace on the turn and the river, I'm dead.

Question: Should I have raised all-in pre-flop? Should I have folded pre-flop? (I still have enough chips to wait for a better opportunity). Should have have folded on the flop after I check and he bets (I'm not pot committed yet).

it is not necessary to fall in love with AK seen aggression and no matches on the flop, not top pair there or anything, and maybe your opponent has a ready-made set or two pair after the flop put a bet for what ? that would determine where we are ahead or behind, Beth, for this you need to choose the right size from the Bank, if given opponent re-raise then we can fold AK

Some errors in the hand, chip count doesn't add up. Copy-paste the hand history if you can.

I think before the flop you played well !!! after the flop, if the opponent plays aggressively and you do not get the right card, you better give up!

Sometimes i try to avoid such kind of situation in advance with pocket AK when have relatively lot of chips. I want to be on the safe side to be as long as possible in the game. Remember, even small pair has improved chances than AK at all-in. So think twice when playing with rich-in-chips opponent.

a considerable bet you had to make before the flop, not connecting a strong hand the best decision before an aggression is better withdraw

I think it was necessary not to call before the flop, but to go all-in or fold ...
A game without position in 4bet pot is not the best option...

I might be wrong, but think that overall you played not so bad. Ofc you could have 3-bet him, having enough info about his image and range. Postflop you had nuts flush draw plus two overcards, giving you plenty outs and pot odds were good to shove. Generally speaking, you will be winning every next time in similar situations over long term.

Professionals say in difficult situations, if no ready solution , it will tend to fold.
