Quite right. We were told nothing about the aggressiveness of the opponent and his approximate range. 12BB is a significant raise. This is either a strong card or a maniac.

What were your plans on the flop anyway before the cards came? By calling a ridiculous bet and acting first out of position and with a call You were hoping to hit something on the flop and that was it. The nutjub overbet pre-flop with whatever and was going to continue with it. Facing such over aggression your hand was gooId but not that good. If you were going to fold on the flop the second you miss why call? I am not saying fold was wrong but you want to be the aggressor here and only way that would happen is another raise pre flop.

I would somehow try to stay in the game, but I'm just a beginner.

Yesterday made a call with 12 bb from A10, when there were 50 people left. Ran into the KK. Now I regret a little)

I would shove this. Calling seems bad with AK.

Not flatting here - seems like the perfect stack size to 4-bet shove and see 5 cards with AKs.

If either or both players are extremely tight I'd consider folding.

Good luck to you! :D

Not gonna waste 12 bb preflop when I have over 30 bb.

With 30bbs , and a 12bbs 3-bet , you have two options , folding if your opponent super tight if he's not , I pref to 4-bet shove with AK

Shove pre! AK is not a hand that would play post flop and you have to charge your opponent preflop! you still have a decent amount of equity w A and K blockers.

What do you want to accomplish by calling 12 bb and playing OPP with the hand that does not hit most of the time???

Agree with a lot of them that said, all-in pre-flop. Calling with 1/3rd your stack in, OOP is a bad-bad play and you're laying the right price for the initial raiser to see a flop, possibly making it 3-handed, you don't want to do that.

It's either an all-in or a fold (depending on opponents), no other play is profitable.
