Trying to grind through $25 GTD's on ACR to help build a solid BR. I am still a beginner, however, and will be posting spots I get into on this thread looking for help and advice, specifically on spots where I should be shoving/folding - since that is the main strategy in this tournament, IMO.

Here is a hand where I had 13 BB's (but was 19th place in the tournament), and wondering whether I should be shoving here or not:

There were 35-40 people left in the tournament at the time and the top 18 paid. I had JdKd in UTG +1 9 handed.

That's a really loose shove especially with so many people behind you.

KJ suited has bad showdown value. You're losing to any A or pair.

With KJs, I'd like to see the flop before pushing. A small raise and see what happens.

I think the shove is fine in a later position if you are the first to open the pot.

KJs plays post flop a lot better, not many hands are calling that you're ahead of pre.

It depends, if your just trying to min cash than limp/folding is your best bet in early position. If your trying to chip up and go for the W, than your shove is fine. Doubling up with the most possible chips is better than folding down to 5bbs and then doubling up to 10bbs if your going for the win.

As others have said, just looking at the chip stacks and position shoving with KJs seems a little loose.

I would ask what your perception of the other players was? Which ones were solid and tight, which ones were loose and aggressive, which ones were calling stations that would chase an inside straight?

Depending on the table, the image you have been projecting at the table (Provided you have been playing with that table long enough for the players to build an image of you) it could be a good play.

Personally, with 13BB's in early position, I'm usually not likely to shove with KJs.
