You both played the hand correctly from my point of view. Your opponent just had better luck.

It just one of those hands where neither you or your opponent is going to fold. Although, calling with A, Q on a re-raise shove all in is a debatable move on your opponents part. Still, Top pair, best kicker is hard to let go. Unfortunately, your opponent got lucky.
