UTG (6,880)
Villain UTG+1 (11,194)
UTG +2 (6,242)
Hero Lowjack (9,418)
Hijack (80)
Cutoff (6,888)
Button (4318)
SB (6811)
BB (1795)
Preflop:
UTG Fold, Villain limps 300, UTG+2 Fold, Hero raises 900 with KcJc, folds around, Villain calls
Flop (2520) Jh 2h 5c
Villain checks, Hero checks
Turn (2520) Jh 2h 5c 4d
Villain leads for 600, Hero calls
River (3720) Jh 2h 5c 4d 5d
Villain Jams 9649, Hero calls
Thoughts:
Preflop: Villains range is pretty much any 2 here so I raise it up for value with a semi-strong holding of KJs
Flop: Villain was bluffing a lot postflop and loved putting money into the pot. Flops that I checked back he would often stab on later streets. I check behind to induce some bluffs, and balance my range by having some strong jacks in my check back range
Turn: As expected Villain leads the turn for a small amount. Fold is out of the question so I can choose to either raise or call. I thought he was weak and I felt as if I could get more value by allowing him to bluff the river. Especially, because his hand is likely to have no equity
River: This jam seemed very strange. Basically what it came down to was he was saying he had a 5 or A3. I was not happy about this situation at all, but I decided to put in the call. The reason behind it was that this KJ is one of the strongest hands I will have in this spot. I am going to have very few 5's and boats so I figured if I fold this hand, I am overfolding in this spot.
