I have been trying to play more hands in position against weaker fields. Instead of 3 betting, I have been over limping or flatting min raises in position with hands that play well multi way post flop. I feel that this will balance out my play with small to mid pairs and suited connectors as well as when I am trapping with AA or KK

100/200/10
SB 29 BB
BB 35 BB
UTG 36 BB
LJ 87 BB
HJ 34 BB
CO 30 BB (hero)
BTN 24 BB

UTG folds
LJ min raises to 200. LJ plays all broadway cards and all pairs from any position, c bets too much
HJ calls, HJ is loose preflop, plays most suited Ax, Kx, Qx, Jx, and connectors plays aggressively post flop with minimal holdings
CO has :qh4: :8h4: calls
I call with the intent to fold to an all in from Button, or blinds. Button is a good solid player, SB is a little crazy and BB is super tight
Button folds
SB folds
BB calls

4 ways to the FLOP
:jh4: :5c4: :2h4:
pot 920

BB checks
LJ bets 1/2 pot, 460
HJ calls
Action is on me, this is my thought process:

LJ c bets too much, so I do not give him much credit here.

HJ flats, I think that if he had a flush draw that he would raise here. :ah4: :kh4: and :ah4: :10h4: would have 3 bet preflop, :kh4: with another heart is possible, but I think that he raises his flush draws here. This player also probably raises sets, two pair and premium top pairs here JT+ I think.

If I had AJ or KJ, I raise here, if I have 55 or 22, I raise here, so I need to have some semibluffs here. 1840 in the pot, I have 2760 behind so any raise will be all in. If I am correct in my read, I have 9 hearts and a Q for outs, with the possibility of running straight cards. My equity here against a weak Jx hand is 46%, plus fold equity.

I went all in, LJ folds, HJ calls and shows :js4: :7s4:

My read was correct, and I went with it and for it for once. Thoughts?

I'm glad it worked out for you, but honestly, folding pre-flop is by far the best play.

If you're opponent is playing too many hands, or c-betting too much, or both, we want to tighten our range down, and increase the pot size (by raising) for value. Certainly Q8hh could be in the conversation for an isolation raise, but in these cases, in these games, with these players, there just isn't very much upside - we're taking too much risk where other, less risky and better spots are readily available.

Additionally, we know that our opponent is playing too many hands well enough - but does that really mean he doesn't have a hand now? We don't really have any information - maybe a slight edge simply based on frequency, which basically amounts to something slightly better than a guess.

Just fold PF.
