Villian Stats (VPIP/PFR/AF): 53/18/21

I have recently joined a new poker site and instead of depositing I am attempting to build a bankroll from the minimum amount of freerolls (one every four days) that are available. This bankroll consideration was a primary data point in my decision to lay down AK suited preflop.

Villain is splashy - using his VPIP 53% to guestimate his range as Villain has not shown any cards yet (15 hands so far in tournament). When plugging in 53% of hands (629 combos) to Flopzilla Villain has ~35% equity for the range and Hero has ~65% with AKs.

The hand history follows, but in short : $15/$30 blinds Hero in UTG+2 raised to $90 and HJ Villain went all-in for $~2k which would have cost Hero ~68% of his stack. What is your opinion on the Hero's lay down taking into consideration the importance of cashing in the freeroll to build the Hero's bankroll?

Game: Freeroll (rebuy available) with ~2 hours late registration probably pay ~70 places
NL Holdem $15(SB)/$30(BB) no ante
BTN ($2930)
SB ($2470)
BB ($1837)
UTG ($4362)
EP ($2778)
HERO ($3458)
MP ($2435)
MP ($2440)
HJ VILLAIN ($2335)
CO ($2425)

Dealt to Hero AK suited - :ac4: :kc4:

UTG Calls $30 (Rem. Stack: 4332), EP Folds, HERO Raises To $90 (Rem. Stack: 3368), MP Folds, MP Folds, HJ Raises To $2335 (allin) (Rem. Stack: 0), CO Folds, BTN Folds, SB Folds, BB Folds, UTG Folds, HERO Folds

HJ Villain wins $255

Thank you in advance for you opinions and thoughts!

Usually I'm calling here, but I can understand the conservative approach if the min cashes are worthwhile. You usually need to build a big stack to get a significant prize in a freeroll though.

Against a VP of 53, I'd have to dig really deep to find a fold here.

You're really only crushed by 2 hands, and at worst it's a race against all the others.

I dug deep, and there was no fold in me for this situation.......;)

I think a call is more justified than a fold here.

15 hands in I try to limit single hand losses to about 10% of my stack. In this case the loss hurts but is not fatal since the blinds are so low. If villains play is known by more than just the last 15 hands say 100+ in HM or PT then I'd call and either have him dominated or flip the coin here.

Thank you all for your thoughtful replies. As I continued to watch Villain play for the next 20 minutes I am confident that you are all correct, I should have called.

As if to punish me for not calling with most likely the best of it in the hand I bought up here.... AKs knocked me out of the tournament about an hour and a half later against a 63o! LOL That's a freeroll for ya! :)
