First hand of a $10 on Demand Freeroll on ACR.

All 8 players have 1500 chips

15/30

Hero UTG +1

Hero dealt :as4: :ah4::aetsch:

Villain 1 UTG calls:

Hero: Shoves all in

Villain 2 calls

Villain 3 calls

Villain 1 Folds

In a $10 freeroll, I know I'm getting callers,
Do you think this is an appropriate action to take?
If not why?
If so why?

Regards,
GiGiCat:)

If you pay can win and lead the chip count
or be eliminated for a trash hand.
Usually I don't call this beat.
I preffer still alive and win in other situations.
Some will be think different but in first hand be eliminated is so bad.

When you are likely to have the best cards at any point in a game or hand, generally you want to build the biggest pot possible without making your opponents fold. There are exceptions late in tournaments.

Under normal circumstances your bet would be too likely to make your opponents fold. But I have played these freerolls before. I wouldn't say

I know I'm getting callers

but I think you are getting callers often enough here to justify this move.

With AA preflop you know you have the best hand, and in the first hand of a freeroll you know that some people's ranges are every hand and the kitchen sink but I think here the rewards outway the risk. If you call the all-in and lose to 72o hitting two pair or something like that, you are out a few minutes and maybe a few pieces of hair if you have a little titled moment, but you're not out a buyin or any rebuys or anything really and if you do bust out, you can rebuy for the $.10 or whatever it takes. If you win though, you basically are gonna triple up and be in a great position the rest of the tourney. So anytime I get AA early in a freeroll, it's calling all ins every single time no matter what because there is literally no risk whatsoever and every hand you play against most likely needs 2 or 3 cards to make a better hand than you but you only need 1 to make trips that will blow out most other hands.

There are a lot of players who go all in first hand in these types of freerolls regardless of their cards so I like your play. You will likely get called by at least one player.

I'd bet immediate raise to 4BB but not higher. You never know how tight your opponents are :)

If all fold to 4BB in first hand either you got a reputation and they are regs or... Just really unfortunate :p

If there's a 3bet THEN you can consider stuff like huge bets :)
