You got it in with around 90% equity, so why do you assume, you made a mistake? Postflop kind of play itself, so for me the only consideration here is the preflop raise size. You were pretty short, and I know, mini-raises are not uncommon in tournaments, but you created a 4-way pot, and is that really ideal?

Maybe you want to mini-raise with other parts of your range, but are people in a freeroll really smart enough to notice a deviation in bet size and figure out, what it mean? And if the answer is no, then why not go just a little bigger and get more value and thin the field?

You would obviously love it, if someone jammed on you, and people are more incentivized to do that, if you put more chips in the pot already. Not like a third of your stack of course, but just a somewhat larger 2,5-3 BB raise. The largest size, that still look normal for the game.

That being said with these two hands and short stacks, all the chips has to go in if not preflop then on the flop. Its just a cooler situation for him, and then he put a bad beat on you. There is no need to overthink situations like these. When stacks are short, someone has to go broke, when two big hands run into each other.

Thank U 4 Posting

There was no way to not lose this hand so do not feel badly about losing.

If I read this correctly you have only 17ish BB preflop. Your min raise causes 3 players to call. This is not what we want to happen at this stage of the tournament. We want to limit the number of callers because we cannot get away from the AA with this stack size.

Often we could be shoving a wide range of hands at 17BB so we should be balancing those shoves with AA especially in a loose game.

Vs 3 callers AA could have as little as 40% equity preflop with no way to know if the SB called with a 4x type hand. So we could be getting all in on that flop with 9.4% equity.

AA vs 1010 vs 54s =9.4%
or AA vs 1010 vs A4s is 4.8% equity

If we shove and only the BB calls our equity is 84% preflop. The 1010 seldom folds to that shove but if it does this time woooohoooo.:five:

Hope this helps.

I think youve made just one big mistake preflop with 2x raise. When you have AA you should make at least 3.2x raise or even 4x. Why? Because you dont want to play against other players with 64 or JT. If someone has good cards will pay it, stop losing chips against shitty hands. As Negreanu said, if you have a good hand then raise buddy..raise, raise , raise..no calls!

In this blinds and micro buy-in or freeroll I like open minimum x3 or x4 BB. Imo x2 BB in this tournament is too small. On flop ofc snap AI.

I think with your stack size it's a shove. Deeper stacked a bigger raise size is needed as played your getting action from tens anyhow just an unlucky run out
