$Freeroll NLHE MTT: $Freeroll NLHE MTT: AQs in LP Facing EP Shove Before Action Comes Around

<div>Hero is dealt AsQs from the cut off with stack size of 8465. Blinds are 200/400/40, eight handed.

UTG folds.

UTG+1 open-shoves for 9047.

Folds to hero. Hero isn't sure if calling off stack is right move in this exact spot. With AQs here, I decided to fold to save my tournament life. Any pocket pair would mean I am behind by a flip unless QQ+, and we would be ahead against most AX combinations.

In this exact spot, is it standard to call or fold?

In a freeroll I am more than happy to call here with AQ.

He can have Ax, small pairs, broadways and even air.

A few times you will see QQ, KK, AA or AK but the times you see worse will make this a profitable call long run in freerolls.

I guess it's pretty standard to shove all in with AQs. Personally I tend to stay away from all ins unless I have a premium pair. Suited cards can be attractive but if the whole cards are bad there is nothing you can do. At least with a pair you can rely on something. If the opponent is loose aggressive you might take a chance, just don't feel bad afterwards, hehe.

This doesn't make sense AQs has ~ 50% against 22-JJ, it doesn't matter if the flop is bad, when you are getting it in pre, if you're shoving JJ then you are also worried about the flop surely???

In a freeroll I don't see how anyone can get away from AQs for 20BB, people shove so wide making it a very profitable call. We're only worried about QQ+, which we block, and AK, but we have 30%.

Yep, that's why I said it's pretty standard to go all in with AQs. I'm just biased against suited cards that's all. Maybe I should trust the maths more...

It's a freeroll! AQ is a premium hand comparably. A10 and above should be ahead of most of these bingo players.
