I am just wondering if based on position, stack size, and play should I have folded and waited for a better spot??

Game ID: 900286576 1000/2000 Cardschat $100 Freeroll, Table 6 (Hold'em)
Seat 3 is the button
Seat 1: masonman88 (17143).
Seat 2: TheHulk7 (17274).
Seat 3: MTCashman (12218).
Seat 4: MootsoBCP (24897).
Seat 5: Nietzche484 (41830).
Seat 6: itsjustaherb (23106).
Seat 7: potfan42o (57567).
Seat 8: Flopologist11 (36339).
Seat 9: magical cards (9626).
Player MootsoBCP has small blind (1000)
Player Nietzche484 has big blind (2000)
I do not know how to work the converter from Holdem manager2 to Cardschat so I am going to freehand this history.
So play folds around to the button MTCashman goes All-in for 4 Big Blinds (adj) folds to me in the Big Blind, I have 13 BB, I am holding A9s, So I would like people's opinion. MTCashman IMO is a pretty lag player at the end of tourneys' (which I like, by the way) , I have played 3 final tables with him. Which is not a big sample but I have him shoving pretty wide here, in fact If he had AA, KK, I think he might get tricky?? OK, Please let me have your thoughts, should I ignore personal history and go by HUD?? I only had 300 hands on my HUD.

OK, The finish was He shoved with QJo (I am going to count my read as good). I was 60 - 40 favorite, of curse I got crushed Q on the flop, J on the turn. Remember we are not results orientated. HaHa

I am not very good with ICMizer, I only have free version, (I need to bink a couple of freerolls) LOL. From what I gather its a pretty close spot but I think it is a call against button's range. So at least my personal read did not really change the play for better or worse.

Very easy call. It's only 3 bb for you to call his all in.

Your written HH is a mess. We don't know what your hole cards are, and if MTCashman shoved on the button as you stated, it would have been a 6bb shove (12,000 / 2,000 = 6)

It's not even close spot. I think even Q2o is a call in this spot but it depends on chipstacks of other players at the table.

If you are in BB, then you are player Nietzche? You have 21 BB then... And as trent said, villain has 6BB. Hard to help you when info given doesn't match hand history

OP has A9s w/ ~20 BBs

I think we can fold A9s here for a 6 BB shove with only ~20 BBs. I think we might just be barely beating a 6 BB shove range, but it's really close. Also, you're 2nd largest stack with some really short stacks before you.

I think I call with AJs and 1010+ here, though.

I wouldn't call the 6bb with A9s , even though your ahead of his range it would eat your stack down to roughly 29000 or 14bb so folding is a better icm move for you. Its not your job to take him out after all.

If you had a reasonable read on the BB, IMO you should've shoved all-in when the button pushes. You were 2nd in chips, so really no point in calling, Or all-in or fold:)

Because when you make such a call with such a player after you yet to act is very risky. And he did exactly that:eek:. And you had to let it go. There it definitely was a very good fold no matter which cards he held, unless of course you held a high pair or ak:)
For the rest it was a good fold

So before he shoves you shove fist and you will see that he folds:D

Hope this helps a little:)

My gosh how did I miss that, the first couple times I read the OP I couldn't find it anywhere, now I look and clearly see OP's hand lol, gonna need glasses soon.

A9s is an easy call here, not close.

I would call, your hand is pretty nice considering the range that a short stack would go all in in his position.

Thanks, this is what I was thinking about. I copied the Big Blinds from my Holdem Manager, Can you tell me why they appear to be off by so many?? I know its adjusted Big Blind stat but I am unsure of why it gave me the numbers it did??

Thanks for the reply, These are the things that I need to learn in tournament play, I will probably always remember "it's not my job to take him out" (LOL)

And sorry to the guys who berated me for the hand history, I will try to do better next time. That was my first hand history post. I copied the Big Blinds straight from my Holdem manager, I have to check why it is so far off?? Thanks for pointing it out.

Just a quick note: I understand the adjusted Big Blind stat, I did not really ever pay attention to how much the difference is between the actual Big Blind online I rely on my HUD which I guess I am learning is not always best because I was confused for a second by the difference, I am reading more into the M and the ABB now, I started as a cash player so this stuff is only a couple months old to me

Hero was the BB.

Ok sorry:confused: misread:eek:

If you have a read on such a player it's not always a call either because they can shove with anything, so my guess is to call with A10<, because i personally find A9 a very weak hand. Even AJ off is a weak hand, but against loose players who i have a read on A10+ or any two face cards are sufficient for them:)
Sorry about misreading earlier:eek:.
