Hi all, was playing an Elementary League tournament on pokerstars and this hand occurred.
PokerStars - 100/200 Ante 20 NL - Holdem - 8 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4
MP+1: 23.7 BB (VPIP: 50.00, PFR: 5.56, 3Bet Preflop: 0.00, hands: 36)
CO: 1.13 BB (VPIP: 0.00, PFR: 0.00, 3Bet Preflop: 0.00, Hands: 27)
BTN: 1.33 BB (VPIP: 0.00, PFR: 0.00, 3Bet Preflop: 0.00, Hands: 26)
SB: 1.03 BB (VPIP: 0.00, PFR: 0.00, 3Bet Preflop: 0.00, Hands: 53)
BB: 1.53 BB (VPIP: 0.00, PFR: 0.00, 3Bet Preflop: 0.00, Hands: 53)
UTG: 25.65 BB (VPIP: 17.31, PFR: 8.16, 3Bet Preflop: 0.00, Hands: 53)
Hero (UTG+1): 22.53 BB
MP: 36.98 BB (VPIP: 40.38, PFR: 10.20, 3Bet Preflop: 0.00, Hands: 53)
8 players post ante of 0.1 BB, SB posts SB 0.5 BB, BB posts BB 1 BB
Pre Flop: (pot: 2.3 BB) Hero has K:club: Q:diamond:
fold, Hero calls 1 BB, MP calls 1 BB, fold, fold, fold, fold, fold
Flop: (4.3 BB, 2 players) A:diamond: 6:spade: K:spade:
Hero checks, MP bets 1 BB, Hero calls 1 BB
Turn: (6.3 BB, 2 players) T:diamond:
Hero bets 1 BB, MP calls 1 BB
River: (8.3 BB, 2 players) Q:spade:
Hero bets 4.15 BB, MP raises to 33.88 BB and is all-in, fold
MP wins 16.6 BB
In this situation, would it have been wiser to call the shove? I was worried about him having a Jack to finish the straight, and I regret not making larger bets throughout to try and shake him off if he was in fact hoping to hit the straight.
Thanks in advance
