Thank U 4 Posting.

Are you basing your bet sizings on SPR. Stack to pot ratio?

If you did then you should expect a shove not a reraise from the BB with their entire range when you bet 6500 on that flop. Therefore you would have to call as BB has hands we are ahead of, that they shove.
This is why it is recommended to make smaller bets when in these spots. To define our V's response more clearly.

If BB made a standard reraise of 3x that would be 19K or almost half their stack. So you will see a shove from most players if they are going forward here.

Had you bet 30% 4K the shove by BB becomes very strange. It is also appears to be a bet that is not afraid to get called which makes shoving so much more of BB's range an over bet.

By now in the game you should have some data on BB. If not, next time watch how BB plays so you can know if BB has shove bluffs here.

You can also check this flop or over bet it to negate the ICM pressure the BB can put on you with a shove. Small bet -over bet -check, are all better plays than standard half pot bet.

By the way you can also 3x pre so that BB cannot effectively call with 40% of hands.

Call or fold depends on reads and your skill level vs the field.
If you are 3rd or 4th best player than call.

Hope this helps
:):)

I probably play this the same way, you did. If he is only ever doing this with hands better than yours, you are of course not getting the right price, since his jam is an overbet. But as soon as you add in any amount of draws or hands like A5 or A6 turned into a bluff, you have enough equity to make this call.

I am not loving it, and I would much rather have KQ than QT, so I was more likely to have the better kicker. But even so I feel, stacks are to short here to get away from top pair decent kicker against someone, who can have a very wide range after defending his big blind against a mini-raise.

Also ICM is not a big deal here, because the next two payjumps are rather insignificant, and folding would leave you as the second shortest stack. Which mean your payout would be unlikely to exceed 12$ anyway. So for me if I got it in here and lost, its not something, I would spend a lot of time worrying about.

Can Hero fold top pair weak kicker in a low ~3.3 SPR pot? I don't think so. Perhaps the best play would have been to shove when checked to, put the pressure on Villain.

As played, against a tight Villain, Hero can consider folding to the jam due to the opportunity to ladder up. Even laying down Hero will not be the short stack.

You were second in chips. I would fold pre-flop. Since it raised and post-flop I would bet everything.

Its completely fine and standard to open QTs from CO. In this situation all three players behind had re-jamming stacks, but this is why, hero went for a mini-raise, so he can fold to a 3-bet from the 15-19BB stacks without losing to much. If the 8BB stack jam, its somewhat close but probably a call, since we would be getting around 2:1.
