This is a tough one. Villain is pretty tight, and putting him on that range is pretty troubling for you since most of the hands he's playing are going to be top pair or Ax with a much better kicker than your 9. I don't think you want to 3bet him here with those stats because basically all he's going to call you with is already already of your hand so preflop call is best here. On the flop you do hit your pair but a flush draw would obviously have been a much better flop for you. I think after the check you want to raise more than 4BB though for two reasons. First you can rep a lot more hands on that board that villain can, his range is lot more top end cards but you (unless your stats are super tight as well) could have JT, lower pocket pair (66/55) for the lower end straight draws or a suited connector two pair which on that board would play really great vs JJ+. I'd say a bet of 6BB at least here is much better to perceive strength with a hand that likely has very little showdown value right now. On the turn the pot size bet after the check-call is probably a sign he has two pair with QQ+, I really dealt quads or even trips with the range he's playing (88 is the only potentially nut hand I think he could have but he would have probably raised that on the flop). With a pair of 9s and Ace kicker I really don't see how you can call here without at least having a flush draw on the board also so it's a fold for me.

With this VPIP, hardly he is bluffing or 9x. Perhaps the problem of betting 6bb's on the flop, it is a difficult decision to fold on the turn, smaller letters, for stack account.

Chb, looking at a free card, is not that interesting? I know the board is connected x 2 players.

I put him on an overpair.

I just thought it was weird that he just smooth called the flop with it so coordinated.

I think the 2nd spade scared him for flush possibilities so he wanted to make me pay to hit flush on his over pair.

If we check back the flop and he leads for 1/2 pot on turn what is our plan then?

I was planning to shove the turn myself.

I would shove or fold preflop from that spot with action before me. A9 is not strong enough to shove preflop with 21bb and seems pretty weak to just call without a plan, of you are planing to shove the turn just shove the flop instead, You have less than 2x pot so it's not that big of a shove.
