Hi guys, this hand happened near the bubble from a 2.20$ ticket to a 22$ ticket, what should I have done here? I guess I'd normally shuff but given the huge bump in prices and being in a good position to take it down I decided to fold.

What do you think?

Ps. ended up taking down the 22$ main event ticket, just a bit short of the 215$ one but quite content nonetheless :D

If anyone that gets in the money wins a ticket its a good fold.
If not I think its marginal and depends on the tendencies of the player. A crazy player I call there. If he is random I fold.

I shove there, but I finished 5900th.

If you can win a $22 ticket in this donkament, you should be giving the advice.

What's the odds!

I was in your table!!!

My username is JMVIndustry. I was the one who got out with KJ against 66 on the JJ369 board in the pot of 200k. It would have got me to the $22 ticket and only a double up and a half from the $215 ticket. But, whatever, a $2.20 ticket will do.

After the tournament, I even checked how well the players that I was against did, and the first username I recognized was yours, lol. I think that you made it in one hundred and fifty somethingth.

Anyways, about that hand. I think that it is a call. I know it is near the bubble, but you must remember that your opponent has 6BB, so your range has got to be above his. Also, you still would cash even if you lost, which you likely wouldnt have. The only hands that your afraid of is AA, KK, QQ and JJ, which is quite unlikely. A bit after bubble, you mentioned to another player how you jammed A5o in early position because you only had 4.5BB. Well, the jammrr had only 6BB, so in most cases, they wont have much better, even when on the bubble. Additionally, I'm not sure if many other players take this into account, but the payout structure in this tournament was very unusual. In most tournaments, the money bubble is more important than the pay jumps, but in this case, it was the other way around. One gets a $2.20 ticket from making it in the top 500 of 30000 runners, however 300 get 10x the $2.20 ticket (a $22 ticket. And 100 get 100x the $2.20 (a $215 ticket), even though they only have to make it 5x further.

Nevertheless, congratulations on your success in the tournament. I wish I stayed longer, so I could get to where you got :p

That's quite a coincidence xD

Yeah indeed, lost a 3 way all in unfortunately, would have bagged me a 215$ ticket otherwise, but really happy with the result anyways ^^

But yeah in a normal tournament I guess it is a clear shuff, but the payjumps made it a bit more difficult, plus the fact that alot of players there aren't aware that they should be shuffing so light. Was the first hand I saw him push at this table.

So your advice would be a call? And then fold if someone who covers me reshuff?

According to payjumps his shove might be tight. And also there are many players after you and one them also might push. So you finished well, your decision was ok.

Tour stack is here only M5. In regular tournament wtih your AJs this is snap call. Here this is satelite. In this is very important what is your place it this and how much players to end this satelite. I see in this 500+ ticket. I don`t see your place. In this when I`m in about up to 300 places I fold this! GG sir!
