4 left paying something like 5, 3, 2, and 1.50 or something (not too important)

blinds 5,000/10,000 ante 1,500 (i think)
BB - 150k
SB - 130k
Button - 100k
Hero - 45k

I got A9 suited so i was going all in, but i'm interested in BB calling range after it was folded to him. He called with K7 suited. Does that sound about right? What should the low side of his range be?

Hello Formertroll,

When someone is short stacked, under 10 BB, they change their strategy drastically. So, yes, I might open up my range a bit; but I probably would not call with K7 suited myself.

Good luck to you,
Brian

You got 4 BB, his calling range is the whole deck.

From math point of view: the pot was 67.5k (22.5k from blinds/antes + your 45k), the villain had to invest 35k (as he was big blind) to play. Thus he needed to win about 33% of time to break even and he risked about 20% of his stack. Since you had only 4.5bb your range should be very wide, so it's an easy call with K7s.

As for his calling range it can be entire deck indeed. For example, if your shoving range is 50% then calling with 100% range yields 42.38% of equity (which is more than needed 33%).

Many people have worked on push fold charts Google Jennifear Push/Fold or 'Float the Turn' Push Shove. FTT suggests calling all aces, K3s+ and K7o+, I wouldn't call it an easy call, but it isn't bad.

Yeap the call by him was just fine , with 4bbs the BB opponent can easily guess that your shoving range is not only Ax here, it could contain also many Kx , Qx , Jx and some suited connectors etc!
